Guest guest
Brande: This group helped me diagnose my disease and identify the cause- stress. Stressful sitautions make me immobile, I mean not having the desire to do anything. I think the greatly reduced level of activity is damaging to the joints. a few times I was about to have a P flare, I see the symptoms, I connect with my stress level, and make myself happy. Right now, I am in the middle of a very stressful situation, equivalent to loosing my mother twice. Symptoms of an about-to-occur flare appeared, I immediatly exerted a conscious effort to reduce my stress level and take some medications. Often I forget my PA, and my stressful situation takes over. YOur email helped me to remember and I am going to exert an effort no to feel stress. If feeling stress does not help the situation what is the use. I think what I am doing is helping me. Thank you for the reminder. Now I am going to smile, may be laugh, hahahahahhhhaaaaaaaaahaha hahahaahHAH AHA HA HA AHHHHHHHHHHHHHAHAAAAAAAHAAAAAHAHA HAHAHAHAHAH HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHA HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA HAHAHAH HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHAHA HAHAHA HA AH AHA HAH AHA AHHA AHA HAH Oh man, man situation could be worse ! Many times worse ! Oh my God, suppose I loose all my family in a car accident today ! suppose I become paralyzed in a car accident today !! hahahahahahahahahahahah HAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHA tHANK g_D FOR THE CONDITION i AM IN! What a lovely day on the East coast today. Brande Wood <brandewood@...> wrote: I have been reading the thread on workaholism. listed a book (that I am about to see if my library has!) with some great information and Brent added that he believes specifically emotional stress is a huge trigger of PA. I agree with you both so much!!!!! My psoriasis, which only presented for the first ten years in my nails, appeared during a period of tremendous emotional upheaval. Just recently, during a second period of extreme emotional stress, the PA started - first a joint on one fingertip, then another, then the thumb, the hip, the wrist, the ankle, the odd pain in the bottom of my fooot... Both were times of the greatest emotional stress that I have experienced and honestly developing PA is just adding to it (you all already know that, but it helps to be able to say it to someone who understands - it hurts and it's scary and it doesn't seem real at first). Can I hope that flare-ups subside with a reduction of stress? __________________________________________________
Guest guest
- humor is SO therapeutic! I love to pop in a DVD comedy movie when I'm hurting bad. Just laughing lifts my spirits and seems to even make me feel bettter physically! Believe it or not, I moved a small TV with DVD into my bathroom so I can soak in a tub of warm water and laugh at a funny movie at the same time. Works wonders! thanks for the reminder to laugh, sherry z > > Now I am going to smile, may be laugh, hahahahahhhhaaaaaaaaahaha > hahahaahHAH AHA HA HA AHHHHHHHHHHHHHAHAAAAAAAHAAAAAHAHA > HAHAHAHAHAH HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHA > HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA HAHAHAH > HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHAHA HAHAHA HA AH AHA HAH AHA AHHA AHA HAH
Guest guest
Hi Brande Wood, You asked, " Can I hope that flare-ups subside with a reduction of stress? " Like in all things related to a condition as complicated as PA, I think the rate of recovery from a flare-up depends upon many factors: The person's overall health preflare-up, The person's diet, The amount of stress and the duration of that stress, Damage caused by the flare-up, Exercise, Physical environment, allergies, Fun/enjoyment positive attitude, and Medications, to name some important ones. We also must remember, sometimes we get flare-ups for (seemingly) no reason at all. For me, the worst moment of stress (and flare-up) occurred six years ago when my neighbour refused to unplug his culvert which raised the water table and flooded the crawl-space of the home that I had built with my own two hands for my family. The police were contacted and they said I would be arrested if I " tresspassed " to unplug it myself. Mold grew in the crawlspace - it has been a night-mare, and I am still completing a civil action over it. I was also very- overworked at that point from a huge project I had agreed to oversee along with my other highly stressful duties; listening to the sump pumps run day and night under my bedroom was more than my system could handle. It fairly soon after that that the reason for my years of symptoms became more apparent. So, I reply to you today, remembering to long, slowly, and deeply breathe while being thankful for each moment - even the painful ones. Best wishes, Brent

Guest guest
Hey , you made me laugh more than I laughed first time. My sweetheart of long time ago used to live in Ayr, Scotland. I took the ferry from Ayr to Ireland (I forgot the name of the town north of Belfast where the ferry go to) many times. Thanks for asking about my shoulder. The pain started a few months ago and it is increasing in intensity and duration. It feels like a muscle spasm of my left upper arm muscle, or tingling like a mild electric schock. It is still tolerable. Initially I thought it is fibro. Now I think it may be the upper vertebrates are pinching some nerves. Enough for now and let me say to Betz, you are in my prayer. martincoyless@... wrote: In a message dated 06/01/2007 18:36:53 GMT Standard Time, pastoork@... writes: If feeling stress does not help the situation what is the use.
