Guest guest
Dear ka, Traci was a healthy study subject in the clinical trials of Cymbalta, she hung herself in the Eli Lilly research center. Cymbalta is similar in effect to Effexor. I think it's rat poison. Her pastor said " the heart of our church has been torn out " . The FDA still approved the drug. Eat clean natural foods and your body might just fix itself. adding drugs in, though sometimes necessary, usually beats down your immune system and only to suppress symptoms. These drugs don't cure anything. Metals, sulfer, allergies, pesticides, diet drinks etc can effect people differently. Get rid of them and see what happens. If nothing else you will be healthier. Best, Jim Cymbalta I have just signed up in this forum, and forgive me if I might be beating a dead horse when I ask my questions, but I am still learning how to navigate the postings. I have been a migraine sufferer for 2 years as well as a chronic daily headache sufferer. My neurologist has put me on Zonegran to regulate them and the last time I saw him in June has given me samples and a prescription of Cymbalta. I have not taken it yet because I have done some research on the internet and in particular prozactruth.com has listed all the side effects as well as withdraw symptoms. It did mention genetic testing for the CYP2D6 enzyme to see if I could metabolize, which I was never tested for. I was not thrilled to go on Zonegran to begin with, but being put on Cymbalta on top of that is not something I would like to do. Is there anyone that can give me their experiences with the drug? I imagine it is not meant for long term use, and I am not sure what my neuro had in mind when he put me on it. I don't know how to tell him I don't want to take it. My mother has taken Prozac for off label use and she said it was the worst thing she ever did and told me not to take the Cymbalta because I am healthy and should have other alternatives. Can someone please give me some advice? It is much appreciated.

Guest guest
Hi ka, My husband suffered from chronic migraines for years. About ten years ago we were introduced to a holistic doctor from Tustin, CA. He tested my husband and determined that he had parasites in his colon which caused these migraines. This was our first experience with this doctor and it sounded a bit far-fetched (to be really honest). The holistic doctor prescribed different homeopathics, vitamins and a specific diet (no carbohydrates and sugar, since they feed the parasites, viruses, etc.). To make a long story short; he adhered to this program for about 3 months and his migraines disappeared completely! And, as a bonus, he felt incredibly good. He never felt so healthy in his life! He had loads of energy and looked just amazing. He had lost weight, because he had eliminated sugar and carbohydrates from his body. It was the best experience he ever had. I am not implying that your migraines are caused by parasites in your colon. There are different causes, but there are absolutely other treatments than drugs. Joke (Yoka) Jolivette Cymbalta I have just signed up in this forum, and forgive me if I might be beating a dead horse when I ask my questions, but I am still learning how to navigate the postings. Guest guest
wow, thank you for sharing your story with me. I thank God your husband was able to find the root cause of his migraines and I hope I am able to do the same. I just do not like that every single time I go to the neuro or the GP I am put on another medication. I am getting frustrated and just want the pain to stop and miss the stability in my life. How did you get turned on to the holistic doctor? I imagine that insurance doesn't pay for that. May I ask what type of vitamins he suggested for your husband? And what type of meds was he on before he met this doctor? I have been on 50/325/40mg Fioricet, 5mg Zomig-ZMT, 10mg Maxalt-MLT, 25mg Imitrex, Tylenol #3, Topomax, and right now I am taking Zonegran and Relpax. I haven;t figured out what food triggers might cause it (I dont keep a food diary, which I know I should). I try to eat well and exercise (when I dont have a headache). Can you give me any other advice? thank you so much for listening. --- Joke Jolivette <jokej@...> wrote: > Hi ka, > > My husband suffered from chronic migraines for > years. Guest guest
Oh My God, thats to funnnnnnnny!!! Shit I thought I was bad. I'm taking 300 mg of Lithium 3 x a day. But like you I was taking it before I found out about the Hep C. So I sure as hell can't use the virus as cause, damn it! But seriously I do know exactly how you feel. I just recently moved out of my father & step mothers (bitch) into my sisters, due to the problems with the step mother (bitch). Hoest to God if i wouldn't have left I would of done something horrible to her. I would be so upset, depressed & suicidal over there I would plot things everyday, that I wanted to do to her. And beleive me useing 1 of your husbands eyes for an oulet, is mild compaired to what I wanted to do. And I'm not that kind of person. She was also very cruel to me. She wanted to push me over the edge. But I hung in there, held my temper & got the hell outa there. Now guess whos losing their mind? Hey stay away from the cords ok? Guest guest
Yikes, sounds like we have the same malfunction. lol I'm glad you got out of there because we both know how far people like us can take things!! Your step mom sounds like a real winner, I had one of those too so I feel for ya. lol I was driving by an old flame's house yesterday and decided I was just going to kill him and it made me laugh, so I should have known the suicidal thoughts were right around the corner. My doc says it's a chemical imbalance in the brain and he must be right because the Cymbalta he prescribed takes away all that crap and I'm a normal person when I'm on it. Ok, semi-normal. lol I'll stay away from cords and you avoid the step-bitch...ok? lol ttfn. Gayle Well it's official. Hi, welcome to the group. I've been on several antidepressants since my last surgery of 2000. My current is Cymbalta. I can't say I remember the jitters stage, but I definitely had that with others such as Zoloft. I just had a follow up appointment with my Psychiatrist on Monday. I'm not sure Cymbalta is doing it for me, I've been on it for at least a year. He didn't want to try anything else since I'm on so many other meds for pain, nerve pain, etc. So he upped the dose. I don't remember to what at this time. I'll keep you posted once I get the script filled and see if I notice a difference. My problems are I isolate and if left up to my own I'd sleep the days away, but then I'm up all night. The not sleeping at night came first, not the sleeping in the days. When your world as you knew it turns upside down from chronic pain, it's hard not to be depressed. Hope you get more answers. We are all here to help one another. Guest guest
Hi All, I too have been on cymbalta to try and help with leg pain as well as depression...it does ok The downside is most insurance companies will only pay for 60mgs a month when most drs want to up your mgs to 90..it is sad that something that might work for someone they can not get because the insurance feels more mgs is not needed. I hope that your insurance will pay for your mgs if it is more then 60 `*`*Kathy*`*` A true friend walks in when the rest of the world walks out. Guest guest
Thanks for the feedback. I am in introvert by nature and neck problems of course make it worse. I tend to sit here on the couch on my days off reading. I have weekdays off (Tues and Wed) so am out of sync with society anyway. I have to make myself get out. Today I'm going to the museum because I haven't been there in a while. I have a free movie pass for " There Will Be Blood " tonight. My classes start next week and I won't be able to get out as much. I was supposed to go to the chiropractor this morning but cancelled. As I stated earlier, my neck has been " popping " unusually and I think it's from a doc there. I told them when I made the appt. I called this morning to cancel 10 min later than my appt. The girl said no prob and hung up as I was saying good bye. I have complained to them about my appt. with the supposed M. D. there that I saw for pain meds. I went to him thinking that he would at least have my records and know I had a legit case for pain meds. He kept asking me the date of my surgery and who my doc was and where were my records and 2x asked how old I was. In other words, he hadn't looked at my records and seemed to be in a hurry. He prescribed darvocet once a day which is basically to weak for this kind of pain. I don't want or need anyting beyond muscle relaxants and prescription naproxen now. I complained to the chiropractor clinic owner. I guess I am pegged there now as a complainer. I don't intend to go back. I spent or rather wasted $150 on this M.D. since I don't have insurance. I keep my TENS unit handy at work in case I need it. I hope the Cymbalta is helping to keep this pain under control as it seems now that it isn't as severe and doesn't stay around as much now. I'm going to start stretching and simple exercises without resistance to see how I tolerate that. > > >Since some of you have mentioned meds, I was wonderng who has had > >experience with Cymbalta. > > Hi, welcome to the group. Guest guest
Thanks for the reply Deborah. I hope some of the others who are still having troubles will at least ask their dr.s to give Cymbalta a try. It really hasn't had any negative side effects for me. I'm glad to hear that you are doing well. It seems these spasms have all of us to some degree. I am a small business owner, so I too take a lot of stresses to bed with me. I end up watching TV. When I go to bed too early, I have too much time to think, and books don't hold my attention. I am educated, just with little patience. I sleep with a nature sounds clock for background noise. That helps calm me. Do you find it difficult to take pills before bed time? I've had them get stuck in my E. and that created quite a burning. Now if I have to take a late pill, I cut a small slice in a piece of banana, insert the pill, and swallow it whole. Little trick to pass along. cymbalta Hi, ,I, too, am on Cymbalta and I think it helps a lot. It also helps with my depression. Thank Gawd!I had a Heller's in late January lf 2006 and I havemostly a very good time of it, eating and swallowingrather well. When I get stressed out, my E. tightensup and then I get spasms at night, lots of gagging, coughing, etc.Lately I've been getting into bed a little bitearlier than I would if I were going right to sleep, andI read calming books, meditative things, and I try toshake off all the stresses I've picked up during theday. Seems to be working. But the Cymbalta was my last choice, last hope, really, to overcome my depression. And it helpsenormously. If it helps my E., then that's a dividend.I enjoyed reading your post, ; I'm just sorry you have had to suffer so much, sleep alone, etc.,but perhaps you'll be able to make changes over the oldscenarios, one at a time, here and there, eh?! Good Luck!all best, Deborah Looking for last minute shopping deals? Find them fast with Search.
