Guest guest
The negative feeling thing was not directed to you Kit but somebody who is just talking down the BFL way. I just could not believe that people who have been on this list for a long time supporting others were having to justify what they were doing. I just felt that the true BFLers were getting a bit of a hard time and I just wanted to say how much I supported them. I hope everything is back to the normal free discussion and sharing way. And how am I getting on?? Well, I am not on a challenge at the moment and am getting ready for 2001, Always remember that I in UK think that you all in USA are the real pioneers and inspiration for anybody doing BFL and you deserve a lot of respect. Just my 2 cents Lucy UK
Guest guest
Hi all! I had the weirdest thing happen to me the other day. I have been on Methatrexate for 3 weeks now, but Thursday of last week I had this really weird episode. I was sorta tired & achey all day (not like one of my bad days though). So, when I got home from work I told my husband that I was going to lay down for a while. So I did, then a little while later I started freezing to death, like frozen to the bones. I didnt really feel sick though. My lower back and body was hurting so bad that I could barley move. I yelled for my husband to come and he said I was running a pretty bad fever. So, he went and got 2 Tylenols and I went to sleep. When I woke up I was so hot and sweaty. My skin was still alittle sore but I felt all better. The whole episode only lasted about 4 hours and even went to work the next morning like nothing had ever happened. Has anyone else had this happen before? Best wishes, Kim
Guest guest
this is really strange. i also took my mtx on sat and sat nite and sunday i had fever and chills. i had fireplace on and heat on high. it really felt likeit was a good old fashion case of the flu which i havent had in years. my husband thought that maybe since it is flu season that the mtx shut everything down which allowed the flu to take over. does this sound too simple? its all we could figure out any more ideas? Anne <gospelgirll@...> wrote: Hi Kim, This has happened to me a couple of times. I self inject MTX once a week and have been on it since June. The first time this happened I thought it was a bad vial or something. The second time happened last month and I spoke to my doctor who told me I was probably just sick and should have gone to my primary care doc. I don't buy that theory to well as its seems way too coincidental to taking the drug. I too ran a fever and had the chills for a number of hours, then the following day was fine. Don't know if that helps you any, but it surprised me to see someone wrote the same kind of experience I just had. Good luck and best wishes for good health! Guest guest
Hi Kim, While possibly a reaction to MTX, it could simply be that you are/were on the verge of getting a cold/virus. Yes, taking the MTX MAY have enhanced your symptoms, but who knows if it was the cause?? I'd say first and foremost don't freak out. Then tell your rheumy. If you stay on MTX, remain vigilant for the same reaction, but certainly do not expect it. I'm no expert and only experienced what you mentioned once, but I ended up with a nasty cold. FYI, I stayed on my MTX. I hope it was just a one time thing. Stay well,
