Sophia, my girlfriend, told me she had eczema all her life, peaking in

highschool and college. She had it on her ears, arms, legs, neck, etc.

When she quit eating/drinking anything that contained lactose, the eczema

went away. She also suggested cutting out dairy for 1 month.

Hello everyone,

It has been a while since I have posted just got out of bed

yesterday, been there for a week. Pain and swelling killing me. I

went with my sis to doc today she came back pos for HLA-cw6. She is

really depressed so I told here she has to join this group, she said

I don't want to be like you Sharon. Bad news about it is that she is

taking serquouel for paranoid skitz, so there isn't any meds that

she can take while taking that. Nothing OTC except Tylenol. She sees

what I go thru daily without taking any meds to slow the disease

process down, but she knows that I am taking morphine, Lyrica, and

Soma for the pain. She is also going to have a sonogram done of her

thyroid in Dec. because her levels are crazy. Plus she has what

looks like a goiter forming. They want to make sure that it isn't

cancer like mine was before they do anything. What I find so amazing

is this is a free clinic that she went to!!! Also her weight went up

from the last time she was there, from 118 to 150. I have gained

tons of weight since I was dx. I weighed 125 am now up to 183, and

the doc is always saying lose weight lose weight. I pointed out to

her that all the meds I am taking make u gain weight even if I don't

eat anything but fruit and yogurt, I still put on the pounds!!!I am

walking hunched over now since this last epsoide, my sister says it

looks like it hurts to walk, I didn't tell her it did because she is

too depressed right now. I just told her I felt like a pregnant

woman

walking without the baby to enjoy (?) afterwards. I don't really

think I could handle another baby/child. I use the AB Buster but I

haven't seen any results yet. Guess I am like the surgeon I think I

should lose at least 10 lbs.every time I get on that thing!!! Oh and

guess who is my care taker??? Yep! You got it she is. I guess we

will wait till we come to that bridge before we borrow trouble.

I do have some good news too! While I was in bed for a week, I

hired a man (!?) to build on a extra bedroom for me on my moblie

home. It is finished except the inside I have to do it. I had new

cabinets put in my kitchen, which I finally got to see today. I am

going to finish the wallpaper in the kitchen tonight, and it will be

done. If you haven't guessed yet I am remodeling my mobile home. 1

more year and it is all mine!! I have some friends whose daughter

has a daughter and she lets me play Nana, remember I can't see my

real grandkids so I have anna now who I spoil rotten. Her mom

Crystal lets me have her when ever I ask.I had her picture taken

(she is 3) and she had never had her picture taken proffessionaly.

Her mom is rather poor so I get to be a real Nana and buy her new

clothes and do all the fun things with her. I got one of those

battery powered pink harleys at a garage sale and she loves it. Of

course my 13 yr old Kasey has a trampoline and she loves it too. The

neat part about it is she is Kasey's neice Crystal's real father is

Kasey's father, so it's like having one of my own grandkids. Plus

with just 1 I can spoil her more than if I had all of them. Couldn't

afford it. Although I will admit I miss them something terribly, but

anna makes up for of much of it.

My sister's name is Kathy, her ID is psyhcokitty so if you

see her Id please help me give her encouragement. I know you guys

will because that's how this group is to everyone. I guess I just

wanted to make sure.

I hope everyone is doing wonderful, and that your pain has

lessened since starting new drugs. I know that my quailty of life is

almost nothing, but as soon as I leave this pity party I am going to

find things that I can still do and enjoy doing.

Philippians 4:13 " I can do all things thru Christ who strengthens

me " I am reading that daily so that I will believe it and lift my

spirits up, when they are down in the dumps somewhere that I can't

see them. Bless eachand everyone of you in this group, some days all

it takes is for me to read the message board and I get in better

spirits. Sorry so long I have diharrea of the mouth at times.

Hi Sharon,

Long posts are forgiven as far as I am concerned. I am sure that after

having been stuck in your bed for a week, you had a lot to say! lol I for

one

spend a lot of time alone, so I tend to get long winded from time to time

also. My daughter's job keeps her busy away from home a lot. The weather here

has been below 90 for the last couple of days, so I have been out in the yard

trying to get a few things done. Probably not the smartest thing, but I

don't feel too bad today. We have a couple of shrubs taking over the whole

side

yard here, so I am going to cut on them until they die. I don't think I'll

be able to dig the roots up, but maybe in the raining season.

I today finds you and your sister feeling better. I have a strongly suspect

that my sister is also getting this or the fibro. Her complaints are mainly

fatigue and some aches and pain. She is 11 years younger than me, so she

still thinks she is invinceable.

Our weight problems are a catch 22 when we have PA aren't they. We can't

excersize without consequences and our meds sabotage us even if we could move.

Too bad eating is such a required activity. It would be easier to quit

than it is to moderate! LOL God Bless you girls and keep posting. Till later,

Janet in Ca

All the best to you and your sister. I will say hi to her. You

message did not sound like a pitty party. I read of someone who has

hope (renovating your home for future enjoyment), someone who thinks

of others (your sister and some children), and of a person who is

looking to do what she can to make a difference. Keep smiling and

hobbling along, eh. Best Wishes ...brent

Janet,

Thanks for giving me my laugh of the day! About the

weight. You are so right. Sis (Kathy) even more

depressed today. I hope when she goes back to her

shrink that he can tell her there is hope and find a

med she can take. Thank you for your blessing and it

is given back to you in tenfold. Sharon

Sharon...I like being let into your life. And you crack me up. You

really live woman. I notice that when I read what you are up to. What's

so great about that is that I know it's very hard for you to do what

you do. About your sis....could she take Risperdol? That's what my sis

takes and took it for a bit with some success too. It WILL make

you gain weight but it's better than the alternative...being ill. So

you two gals will learn to lean on each other. and I have to do

that sometimes. When she is having a weak moment and I am not moving

around well, we picture ourselves physically leaning against each other

back to back. That way you hold each other up. It's just a visual that

helps us realize how two can be strong. Once I told her to move our big

old coffee table. She tried. She tried and tried and finally said " I

need help. " So together we lifted it. We moved it one foot and then I

said " Let's move it back to where it was now. " asked what on

earth I had us move it for in the first place and I told her it was so

she could see that we need each other and that if we help each other,

we can get things done. You gals will do the same. You'll help each

other out. Remember when it gets tough that you don't always have to

have a forward momemtum. likes that poem " Footprints in the

Sand " . We came up with a verse called " Buttprints in the Sand " about

how it's nice to just sit on the shore next to God and watch the waves

roll in when you are just to stinking tired to even be carried.

reminded me that we stop to rest when we hike and we stop for gas when

we travel so we should stop to rest when we live. Work when you

can...rest when you must. -Betz

Hi Sharon,

Don't worry. We will look out for her.

I'm sorry you are both going through such a rough time of it just now. It's

good that you are there for each other.

Take care,
