Guest guest
You can use tea tree oil to treat strep. It's not homeopathic, but it does kill strep. Another suggestion since you say you get strep easily, is that you can find mouth washes or toothpaste with tea tree oil in them, and if you use them every day, they'll keep you from getting it again. And the tea tree oil will also be killing candida at the same time. I've gotten mouthwash and breath sprays from Melaleuca distributors that I've used to treat strep with, but I haven't a clue how to find a distributor, because my sister used to be one, so I never had to look for one. But most health food stores usually carry things with tea tree oil in them. I used to get strep a lot when I was a kid. But I've been brushing my teeth for years with toothpaste that has tea tree oil, and I never get strep any more, even though I've been exposed to it every year from neighborhood kids, and even though I have a weak immune system. So the tea tree oil must be doing some good. lindaj@... strep Welcome back Margaret, I have not seen you around for a while. Glad that you are still here with us. YOu have always been a great source of information. Just got back from the doctor and was diagnosed with Strep throat. Unfortuntately, I have to take a 7 day treatment of antibiotics. My children and myself have always gotten strep, and it can become rather serious. The doctor who was a substitute for the one I regualarly see, said that it is as commonly caught as a cold. I was wondering if anyone has any info on strep, what one can do homeopathically to get rid of it, or what to do to avoid getting it. I have been in perfect health as of late, just came down the other night with a horrid sore throat. For me, there is nothing worse than a sore throat. It brings back nightmares of last year and my mono episode. Anyhow.. thanx in advance to any one with info. chestnut Send blank message to candidiasis-unsubscribeonelist if you want to UNSUBSCRIBE ! Guest guest
I had strep constantly as a child. I had the tonsils removed at 10 and that cleared up the problems. I also came down with the other childhood diseases - measles, mumps, chickenpox - more than once. Our dr. couldn't believe it. I was a very sickly little kid. My son had a mysterious episode when he was about 2. He broke out all over in a strange looking rash (looked like he had been burned by cigars all over). His little body was so swollen and his kidneys shut down for a day. We almost lost him then. The dr. sent us to specialist and an ENT doc finally found strep in his inner ear and it seems he was allergic to the strep. Has anyone else ever heard of this? And by the way, my son had to have knee surgery at 17. Arthritis had taken a toll on it. I ask him to have his sed rate checked every time he goes to the doctor and luckily his family's primary doc. is very familiar with my illness and my family's history and he keeps a watch for anything unusual in my son and the grand babies. Maybe we should try to start a record of all the strange illnesses we all have had in our past, including surgeries. We may see a pattern. " Scarlet fever, in my understanding, is really an allergy to strep toxins and usually occurs in children, who are prone to strep infections. I came down with a diagnosed case of scarlet fever in my 30s, which is quite unusual, so much so that my doctor contacted the CDC to report the incidence of my disease. I am very allergic to toxins produced by strep, and infections in general, and my psoriasis makes the situation worse. I tend to get a bright rash that's painful to the touch and high fever, making me very sick. I once went to Emergency at Kaiser, my HMO, and told the nurse that I had a throat infection. She said it didn't look like strep and refused to give me antibiotics despite my pleas. The strep test came back negative, but within two days I was so sick with rash and high fever I could hardly stand. I managed to get an appointment with my dermatologist who said, when she walked in the room, " You are really sick. " I couldn't keep my head up while talking to her and I had difficulty keeping my eyes open and breathing. I could feel my body shutting down. I managed to tell her about the nurse not giving me antibiotics and that I've had this illness before. She said that she would talk to the nurse. She said that people who have a history such as mine -- psoriasis, scarlet fever, pustular psoriasis, fever and rash with infections -- should be given an antibiotic regardless of whether or not strep is suspected. My doctor was head of dermatology, a Harvard Medical School grad and she knew her stuff. Some 24 hours after taking the antibiotic, I was well on my way toward recovery, though the rash burned my skin off. I now have a note in my chart that I need antibiotics with any infection, an unopened bottle of antibiotics in my closet, and an undated prescription for antibiotics that I can use at any time I begin to get an infection. I hope this covers all bases. -- BeingIrish
Guest guest
" HERE, I have endured " Monocytosis " aka " Glandular fever " , aka " Kissing Disease " for SEVEN years! I have not check out the Guinness Book of Records, but perhaps I should apply? " I believe you may have confused monocytosis: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Monocytosis with mononucleosis: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Infectious_mononucleosis The precusrsor disease to mononucleosis is the Epstein-Barr virus which is discussed here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Epstein-Barr_virus I personally had Group A Streptococcal which wore me out and led to Epstein_Barr which in turn led to Mononucleosis. I consider the strep infection to most likely be the precursor disease that led to my PA/AS. There is research that supports the theory that strep is one of the precursor diseases that lead HLA-B27 types to getting PA. Mono/Epstein-Barr have been linked to many diseases, including auto- immune disease. Hope this helps, Brent
Guest guest
Hi all, My son tested positive with strep today and I got a script for antibiotics but I don't want to use them. He's not running a fever and the doctor said that his throat was just a little red. His stimming and OCD is at it's worst and so I assuming it's Pandas. My question is should I start OLE or give the antibiotics. I don't know much about Pandas, so any feedback would be appreciated. Also if I give him OLE, how much and how often? He weighs 40lbs and he is 5yo. Thanks, Janet
Guest guest
Ok thanks for that Bee. I havnt had strep throat in the past (from my understanding). Ive had some bad sore throats that were treated with anti-biotic's but I can't remember the doctor ever saying 'strep throat'. This was quite a while ago and I was probably too young to care... I just wanted the anti-biotic's = cure. Im having trouble finding White Willow Bark in my area. If I order them over the internet it could take 3-4 days to get here due to the weekend. I have a herbal supplement here with 500mg Quercetin, 400mg Rutin, 125mg Bromelains, 50mg ascorbic acid. Could this act as an anti-inflammatory to assist the healing of my strep throat in the meantime? Thanks again... Rick > > > > > Hey everyone. I suffering from a really bad case up strep. As I wrote before, your body will retrace each and every past sore throat whether it was strep or not as explained in this article: http://www.healingnaturallybybee.com/articles/heal10.php >>>Im having trouble finding White Willow Bark in my area. Could this act as an anti-inflammatory to assist the healing of my strep throat in the meantime? +++Quercetin and Rutin are not helpful but they are often in supplements that contain ascorbic acid (vitamin C). Bromelain is a digestive enzyme which is a waste of money. +++However, you should have a separate vitamin C since you should be taking 4,000 IU per day on this program. +++Did you read the Cold, Cough & Flu Article, since it advises taking megadoses of vitamin C in addition to your normal dose of 4,000 IU per day? http://www.healingnaturallybybee.com/articles/colds.php +++You should also do the other treatments in that Cold article, particularly getting enough moisture in the air. Guest guest
> > You could try Vitamin C protocol Bee has written about on the group to help toxins come out through your stool. +++Hi , I want to ensure you understand that vitamin C does not help toxins go out through your stools. However, you can get loose stools by taking vitamin C above the amount your body can absorb and utilize, called the saturation level. Anytime you take more than that saturation level you get loose stools because your body throws off any vitamin C it cannot absorb and utilize. You can increase saturation levels by slowly increasing amounts of vitamin C. Luv & Hugs, Bee
Guest guest
Bee, In the past I have never had those white patches before on my throat when I have had a 'sore throat'. With a little bit of research it seems that they are high indicative of Strep. I could be wrong! But my throat has never been this bad before. Its good long term...some serious detoxing is going on. In the short term its very unpleasant. As per your cold/cough/flu treatment page I am digesting an all liquid diet... not by choice though. My throat is so swollen that is most tolerable way for me to digest nutrients. Ive even stopped talking as that causes pain and feels uncomfortable too (and sounds weird ;o) With the increase of Vit C you say take 4000mg in one go, then 1000mg every hour after that. Then " When you get loose stools take a little less every hour, i.e. 200 mg, and so on. " Do you mean the next hour take 1000mg MINUS 200mg (so that would be a dose of 800mg)? Or do you mean just take 200mg? Oh, Ive also lowered my CO intake to lessen any intensity of the symptoms and help my body restore some resting energy. Good or bad? Thanks again mate. Guest guest
Hello, Bee means to take 1000mg minus 200 mg for 800mg dose and so on. Every hour, reduce by 200 mg. I typically create a document with the time frames/doses and mark them off as I go so I don't miss a dose. If you don't consume enough protein your body will start robbing your muscles for it. You should also take all of your supplements and ensure you get 1.5 teaspoons of ocean sea salt per day for the minerals. You can make Bee's Egg Drink with egg yolks, less coconut oil and butter, and hot water only (no spices or stevia) since your taste buds won't be very keen anyway.
