why is there mercury in vaccines at all?

Here's something I just chanced upon from the State of Washington

Creates choice for pregnant women and children under three "

Now reading this press release the choice they are referring to is to

allow pregnant women and kids under 3 to choose to get a vaccine

containing what would normally be, in WA state, an illegal amount of

mercury. What caught my eye was this next bit, at the bottom of the

3d paragraph:

" Supplies of mercury-free vaccine will be limited, which may stop

people in these groups who want the vaccine from getting it. "

If they are making the vaccine without a neurotoxin ie. w/o mercury,

then why are they making even more of the vaccine WITH the

neurotoxin? According to the CDC just over 10 years ago -

" ... the Public Health Service (PHS), the American Academy of

Pediatrics (AAP), and vaccine manufacturers agree that

thimerosal-containing vaccines should be removed as soon as possible. "

As soon as possible means more than a decade?

Hey, what do I know? I'm just a parent with an autistic 12 yr old.
