Guest guest
I'm trying to decide on the best way to transition from 20mg DMSA only to DMSA + ALA for my 40lb child after 14 rounds of DMSA only. If you look at the 4 hour schedule we're on from Friday to Monday, there are 17 20mg doses. That is a total of 340mg DMSA. If you consider that the new 3 hour schedule has 22 doses, and divide the 340mg by 22 doses, that comes to about 15mg/dose to get the same total dose over the weekend. Since sulfur is an issue for my son, it seems to me that dropping back to 10mg DMSA and combining with 5mg ALA might make sense. Then again it might work to just add 5 mg ALA to what we are already doing. I could also see starting at 10mg ALA with 20mg DMSA. Right now I'm leaning towards backing down. Any advice would be appreciated.
