Guest guest
My nephew was allergic to cows milk and was able to drink goat's milk with no problem. For a lead on finding goat's milk call Dan & Becky's Market in Cokato 1-320-286-2284. They're a new, small, health food store that is a good source of info and might know of anyone with extra milk to sell. Guest guest
Most seasonal dairy goats are just starting to be milked. Mine aren't due to kid for another 2-3 weeks, but I was on the beginning side of the learning curve when it came to breeding. It's very hard to find organic ones. But as a totally unrelated side note- we just got a miniature donkey!! He's suppose to stomp on the coyotes. He still has his winter and baby fur and it's so thick that he looks like a yak. His compromise " full name " is Jack, but he'll be called J.J.- or Bubba. Lynn > I am going to try some raw goat milk yogurt.. Does anyone have a > source for raw goat milk.. organic and grass-fed? As a type O who has switched to the genotype diet and is now a type O Gatherer, I drink raw goats milk every day. It is considered an " add in " avoid which means that after a period of time it can be added back in to the diet. As a type O, I avoided all dairy products so I was happy to be able to try some again. Cows milk in any form is still an avoid. I was able to find a person who is selling shares in her goat herd to enable her to legally provide raw milk to those who want it. It is rich and sweet with no off flavor whatsoever. I mix about 12 ounces of raw milk, two teaspoons of coconut oil, two raw organic eggs, a bit of raw ginger, a half portion of fruit (usually peach, pineapple or nectarine which are all super foods for me) and a bit of Stevia in my blender. I whiz it up and that is breakfast. I have to make myself eat lunch because I know I need to keep on a schedule. But I am able to eat a salad or some vegetables and protein without feeling half starved. I would think it would be worth a try if you can find some good raw milk. I like the way I feel when drinking it so I purchased extra in the late fall so I would have plenty in the freezer during their dry period in January & February. The frozen and thawed milk is every bit as good as the fresh. Pam In ID O+ S Gatherer **************A Good Credit Score is 700 or Above. See yours in just 2 easy steps! Guest guest
Are you allergic to it? Dairy makes me tired, bloated, crampy. And I am finding out now how many places dairy is hidden: mayo, cookies, etc. _____ From: [mailto: ] On Behalf Of crystallawless Sent: Tuesday, February 17, 2009 4:24 PM Subject: Raw Goat Milk I realize that we O's are not supposed to have dairy but I have heard so many wonderful things about raw goat milk. Guest guest
I don't think it would be beneficial. You have to realize, there is good stuff about most real food. But it will not be good for everybody. I tried going no-dairy and it just did not work for me. No-wheat does wonders. So on this dairy one I am hearing what my body tells me. Skim milk plain Lattes are in! (No added junk) For example I arrived here today (in the deli with free WIFI) in severe pain, and three sips of latte later, my serious hiatal hernia went quiet. Nothing else works so well. Oddly, coffee makes it worse and milk does nothingl It's latte that works. Go figure! I'm o neg ns, and Explorer. Namaste, Irene -- Irene de Villiers, B.Sc AASCA MCSSA D.I.Hom/D.Vet.Hom. P.O. Guest guest
I am really confused and I want to know if anyone has any advice. My son has been gluten/casein free for over two years. He has been eating the scd yogurt for a while. My husband has severe gut issues that are kept in check when he drinks raw goat milk. Also, when my unvaccinated daughter was born we found that she could not handle formula (I can't breastfeed) so we put her on the nourishing traditions formula. She is 9 months old now and is doing amazing. She is very calm and social. It is to the point that strangers stop and ask me about her, so we decided to put Josh on raw goat milk to see what happens. It is very strange because he is not verbal to the point where he can tell me what is going on. His gut issues have appeared to have gotten a lot better. He has 3-6 bm a day but they are brown, solid and small. He has been on the DAN protocol for about 2 years. We are just about ready to chelate with ALA. I guess my question is: how can you tell if your child is doing well on raw milk? has anyone had good/bad experiences with raw milk?
Guest guest
How to tell if a child is doing well on raw goats milk? Try doing a Doctors Data fecal matter test. It can tell you what good flora and bad flora is in your son's tummy. Your doctor can order the kit. It only costs about $250, but well worth it. > > > > > > I am really confused and I want to know if anyone has any advice. My son has been gluten/casein free for over two years. Guest guest
There is a contact at the Excelsior Farmers' Market. From: thane17@... Guest guest
Hi Thane, I have goat milk--lots and lots of goat milk. Milking 29 at the moment with another 24 due before the end of June. Have cows too. And the milking sheep may be coming back.....
Guest guest
To Thane and all the newcomers to our group, BE SURE to take time to go through our FILES and DATABASE information. Also go to the message section and search the ARCHIVES for the topic of interest. We spend a lot of time keeping these sections current and updated with deletions and additions. There is a ton of information there. For dairies we recommend, there are 17 listed, many with goat milk. Everything you need to know in order to contact them is right there. When you contact the dairy farmer in person you can ask all the pertinent questions that are important to you. Obviously, this is a very, very bad time for producing, selling and therefore buying raw milk. It's virtual suicide for a farmer to sell direct, especially to a stranger. Every farmer I know has been set up recently by decoys and undercover agents. The penalties for selling wholesome raw milk are savage, worse than for drug criminals, and almost every farmer now in jeopardy is a totally innocent purveyor of good food, no other crime. What you can do now about this, is fight, fight, fight! There will be absolutely zero progress to get our laws changed without the numbers. Passivity or NIMBY behavior will empower the fear-mongers and control-freaks to continue to squash our inalienable rights and our American freedoms. If you want to legally purchase good wholesome local grass-fed raw milk now, do this: 1) Join and contribute to the Farm To Consumer Legal Defense Fund 2) Show up at the rallies (stay tuned for details here) 3) Let every political candidate that presides over your residence know you are mad as hell that you can't make your own food contracts and choices. 4) READ UP on everything you can about the truth about milk 5) Tell everyone you know about the healing powers of wholesome raw milk. 6) Remember, it's about taking away our milk now, what will they try to control next? 7) Become a Raw Milk Freedom Rider 8) Stand up for your rights everywhere. 9) Call one of our farmers who is now facing criminal and civil charges and ask them how you can help 10) Eat the best local, sustainable, nutrient-dense food possible! Raise your children to prioritize their life around health, harmony, peace, love and good food!
