Guest guest
Hi I have ordered the above test a week and a half ago and I am still waiting. I ordered it from Laboratoire Philippe Auguste and have emailed them recently and they have not replied. Has anyone else had this problem? Thanks Nicola P.S. How are all the Growing Minds parents getting on with table-time. Luke is doing brilliantly and has recently started coming out of the playroom and then proceeds to do table-time with Gromit (his teddy) with him as the teacher and Gromit as the pupil. He praises Gromit and even gives him a reinforcer (a drink of water) at the end!!!!!!!

I got mine eventually a few days ago. I think they are just running late. How did you order yours btw? I initally ordered via email, then waited and nothing. Then I went online and realised they have a web-order form now: http://www.labbio.net/pages/commandes_kit/formulaire.php So I ordered another from there. Still nothing. Then I emailed and got a reply telling me it would be with me soon. I received it a few days after. .
Guest guest
Hi Nicola We had to wait about 3 weeks in the summer. They don't usually answer e-mails so I phoned them. I spoke to Espiard who was helpful but I think because the US dr's are using them ( Bradstreet is) they are inundated and can't cope with the volume of tests. But they should have sorted it by now. Guest guest
Hi Nicola, we have been waiting at least 4 weeks for results from Paris, still chasing but through ATT in Edinburgh. Will let you know when ours come as that may give you a clue on the length of delay? Re table time - it's taken us a long time to get Archie sitting at request at the table. I'm still working on basic attention - saying Archie and rewarding him looking, and one step requests and imitation. But he seems to really enjoy it (might be the whizzers!) and he is joining in where he can - I'm almost certain now that there is some dyspraxia involved. I do find it difficult to keep up the momentum - its more my energy levels holding us back than Archie's ability I think. But I finally found a helper - someone with experience working in an ASD school and she came for the first time yesterday, fingers crossed - Archie really likes her and started interacting with her straight away (phew!). We've also made some progress getting ready for fundraising so thanks for all your help with that side of things. Mel
Guest guest
Mel Good news that you have someone on board. You cannot do it alone. I have now got 9 staff - now mostly paid not volunteers, but still training 4 - so really hectic. If there is anyway I can help - please email direct. Good luck Nicola x Re: Porphyrin Test Hi Nicola,we have been waiting at least 4 weeks for results from Paris, still chasing but through ATT in Edinburgh. Guest guest
Hi Mel Have you got a Stokke Tripp Trap chair? We didn't know that Tom had dispraxia until we took him to Growing Minds. he was sort of lolling over and they reckoned using all his energy and concentration on sitting upright. We now have 3 stokke chairs around the house and he can sit comfortably, with his feet supported, and concentrate on tasks. They've made a big difference to him - you can alwasy find them for sale on ebay! I know exactly how you feel about energy - of in my case I just run out of ideas with alarming speed. We use these excellent picutre cards from the US called Language Builders that cost a disgraceful $150 but have been the best resource in his programme over the past 3 months. We're also considerng hiring some people in to help us. TOm is 8 and goes to a great school (he is a lucky boy) but he has sooooo much ground to make up. and we've discovered that there's nothing catastrophically wrong with his intellect, he's just very profoundly autistic. Guest guest
Hi all, just to say we've just had our results back from the french lab (porphyrin etc) - they received them on the 16th Nov - so if you are still waiting that'll give you an idea of delay times? Lots of really interesting information though I havnt got a clue what any of it means!!! I can fathom mildly mercury toxic, immune virus, bacterial (4 high, 1 very high) and fungal (3 very high, 1 high)dysbiosis. what that means to us I still need to work out - hoping to get all the bloods back soon and catch up with Lorene and find out... Guest guest
Hi, What is Porphyrin test ? Is it similar to urine challenge test? Is it safe to perform this on children to test metal excretion? -- Priscilla
