Xifaxan or other for gut bacteria

Has anyone used xifaxan as an antibiotic for gut bacteria?  It's apparently

unable to be compunded b/c it's so new the powder isn't available yet.  So we

would have to use the commercial brand, but my son has so many food

sensitivities I don't think it's such a good idea.

 

Can anyone recommend another antibiotic for gut bacteria?  My 4.5 yo son's

already been treated for yeast and parasites (several times).  He's hit another

regression -- out of control behavior, aggression, stomachache, headache, etc

and the doctor is now thinking bacteria.  So I guess we'll do a trial

course.....would greatly appreciate any recommendations!  Thanks!
