Guest guest
I've been using cranio with my son for over a year and a half now. Knowing what I know now, I put it right up there with ABA--wish I had started it sooner for him. All the providers I use/have used are in central or west Houston. Go to www.upledger.com and click on find provider. Type in your zip code and you will pull up a list of providers. It's good, because you can see how many classes they've had, if they are an OT, etc. Cranial Sacral Therapist Is anyone using Cranial Sacral Therapy in the Houston area preferably on the south side or Clear Lake Area? I have heard that it works well with our children and would really like to find someone that works with our children. If anyone is using it, what are you thoughts on it. Guest guest
well -- Each one has had there adantages and disadvantages. The best overall all one is a lady who just relocated to Houston from Florida where she had been at the Upledger Institute and Dr. Upledger called her " the woman with the golden hands. " Her name is Francine Hammond. She was the one who actually told me about cranio when she was still in Florida a couple of years ago by sending me a book about it through her daughter who lives here. We used Simona Glekel the most--who my son still expresses a preference for, but since we've moved, she's just too far. Also, her thick Russian accent is difficult for many people to understand, and she has no concept of time (being on time, etc.). Kern is also good because she incororates flower essences into her work, which my son has responded to DRAMATICALLY. I also really like a lady by the name of McFarland, who has just completed her training and certification as an intuitive healer through the institute of energy medicine established course by Caroline Myss (www.myss.com) and Norm Shealy, MD. For the sceptics out there, I will say that I was so impressed, I had them work on me, just to see what it's like. I've been intrigued and impressed with the results on me. I will say that of the people to whom I've recommended trying cranio, half have noticed a change, and half haven't. The only reason I pursued it is that we saw dramatic results with Karl within 24 hours. If you don't see noticeable change in your son, it may not be for him. Looking back, I think it really helped relieve pressure Karl's head while he was going through a growth spurt. (He used to throw his head into everything, head butt everything, and after a treatment, he would stop.) The process also seems to help balance out emotions, and one of the issues for my son has been being overwhelmed by his emotions, resulting in a lot of acting out. Hope this helps. iginal Message----- From: ginam <ginam@...> Sent: Aug 1, 2004 2:23 PM Autism Treatment Subject: Re: Cranial Sacral Therapist , Would you recommend one in particular? Guest guest
, Thanks for the info. By the way, we are using Dr. Andy Vorester for BIOSET and she has prescribed something called HRMNY for emotional imbalance. It is a homeopathic remedy. We have not used it yet.
