We bought the software through EEG Spectrum Systems - our software is called the EEGer - it cost around 1600 dollars and training was around 200 dollars more. Dr Betty adjusts the protocol every month or so. We live in Greece, so it will be even easier for you living in NY. A friend here in Greece is working with Dr Coben in New York, who is also very good. It would be worth doing a QEEG, so you can see exactly which areas of your child's brain are affected, even though the QEEG is not definitive and often symptoms count for just as much with neurofeedback.  I think the thing with neurofeedback is to be consistent - you really need to do 2 to 3 sessions per week to see results and sometimes with everything else we are doing this becomes difficult.  Good luck  Elena --- Στις Σάβ., 19/12/09, ο/η eli goldberg <elijones79@...> ÎγÏαψε: Από: eli goldberg <elijones79@...> ΘÎμα: RE: [ ] Re: Neurofeedback Therapy Î Ïος: autism treatment ΗμεÏομηνία: Σάββατο, 19 ΔεκÎμβÏιος 2009, 18:33 Hi Elena- I am in NYC and was wondering who this neurofeedback provider you use in NJ is. We are looking into neurofeedback therapy, but with school/work/aba etc it is too difficult to go to a center and would love to learn about a home-based alternative. Thank you Eli From: etsadaris@... We do neurofeedback at home, by ourselves, under the clinical supervision of an excellent neurofeedback provider in New Jersey who is a pioneer in treating autism with neurofeedback. We were trained on the software and it is very easy to use, almost idiot-proof. When you go to a neurofeedback clinic, most sessions are performed by young people with minimal training - most of them have done short certification courses but they are not the ones who set up the protocol, which is the important thing. You need a PHD in neuroscience to do this. We have seen a difference in our daughter's concentration and self-regulation with neurofeedback. I thought it made our son more relaxed and focused. He enjoyed it. I would do it again if it wasn't expensive and inconvenient (160/session, had to drive to it). Guest guest
Hi all, this is an old post, hope can find someone for further guidance. Does anyone seeing dr. Rob Coben or Dr. BEtty Jarusiewicz? It will be great to know who works better. All the best, Corinna > > > > > > Has anyone tried Neurofeedback therapy?....
