Guest guest
Our first son has many issues, I BFed him just shy of 3 months, he weaned himself strangely, so he was primarily formula fed. Our one year old is still nursing, completely NT so far and I have 7 good sized fillings. He is sensitive to dairy and soy, I avoid them completely. My mom.....a MOUTH FULL of them, literally and four of us turned out ok. She BFed me until a year old (I am healthy and not allergic to anything) and my siblings about that long, maybe a little less, in fact, the one child who got more formula is the one with food and environmental allergies! I sometimes worry about the contents of my breast milk, but overall, I think (especially an unvaccinated one) NEEDS mom's antibodies as long as it's available. I admit to trying to get him to take some coconut or hemp milk on occasion, because he will just NOT take anything else and mommy needs a break, but I am happy nursing and will continue to do so as long as he is willing....well, maybe not THAT long, he he he. > > > > When thinking about the big picture of autism, I've often wondered if the increase in autism that started to occur in the 1990's is correlated with the increase in popularity of breastfeeding around that same time. Don't get me wrong, I think breastfeeding is great...BUT if the moms are toxic???? > > > > I breastfed my older, diagnosed son for 14 months. My younger son, who has some symptoms...only 6 months. There were also flu shots involved with my older son that, because of the time of year, I skipped with my second pregnancy. > > > > But the thing that weighs most on me is the breastfeeding what I thought was great for them, could have possibly been what got my boys into this mess??? > > > > Any thoughts? > > Kari > > >
Guest guest
Actually, my oldest son hated formula and I had a horrific time weaning him to the formula, probably due to him feeling bad, worse(now looking back on it). And he did deteriorate when he went on cow's milk at age 1. He did babble at 7 mos tho. Wish I knew more then................ -- In , " laura19982005 " <laura19982005@...> wrote: > > I breastfed both boys, first one PDD-NOS, vaccinated until 4 yrs., had a few flu shots and I had one also during pregnancy due to my asthma, supposedly. Second child, very allergic(food), some mild issues(speech and OT, not diagnosed and doing very well on supps, less vaccines. Both highly allergic to milk as I am sure I am. > > I think if I did not breasfeed them, they both could have been much worse off. Guest guest
Kari thanks for starting this thread. Kim and Andy thanks for telling what I already knew, but have been second guessing myself for the last 2 years. Guilt and self induced stress (I have enough real stress) needs to be eradicated from life so I can help my daughter even more. She needs me the best I can be and I tend to wallow a little in the Autism thing somedays. Thanks for reminding me we are doing the best we can and are not to blame for everything. warm Regards, Lindy On Jul 3, 2009, at 7:10 AM, Kimberley Yee wrote: > > > If it makes you feel any better, you would probably be having the same > doubts (and then some) if you had bottle fed.
