Buy it through the mail in the US; it has no other name in Canada. It's

carried by Pure Encapsulations, Sudbury, Massachusetts and

Laboratories, Pittsburgh, PA (try calling information for phone #'s). Steve

Hi Vee,

I buy magnesium glycinate at my doctor's office in Ottawa. It is

" Magnesium Complex " by Klaire Laboratories; the label says 100 mg of

magnesium glycinate; 100 capsules - 22$; free of all common allergens

(...) Exclusively designed for the sensitive individual.

Regarding mycoplasma testing, I have been tested twice, by two different

doctors. OHIP paid for it. A virologist asked for PCR, and an

environmental doctor asked for IgM. The samples were transferred to

Public Health Laboratories (Ministry of Health- Laboratory services

branch). Both tests came back negative, but I don't know if these are

the most accurate tests for mycoplasma.

Hope this help!

It's an oval tablet, about 3/4 inch long (~2 cm) and just over 1/4 inch

(~8 mm)at it's widest. It seems on the large side as things go, but I do ok.

I take a handful of stuff in one or two big gulps.

boy that is really high. Immunesupport.com is about $11 (and this is without

any of the specials that they usually have going on) for 90 of double that

strength (200 mg.) The " Magnesium Plus " is the mag. glycinate.

Of course they give money to cfids and fm research too. ( I've no

connection to them.)

Unless you have a delicate stomach. I can't take malic acid for this reason.

I use the " Pro Energy " product at www.immunesupport.com. It has malic

acid, magnesium glycinate, and a bit of tyrosine I think (don't have the

bottle in front of me). It comes in capsules which I find easier to

swallow. I take the dose recommend on the label, 3 caps twice a day,

and it really helps with the muscle pain and stiffness of fibromyalgia.

Vee,

My doctor suggests 1-2 caps, 3 times/day (so 200-600gr/day). I think

this is what Cheney suggests too. Maybe it would be enough for you. I

can only tolerate 100g/day. I have problems with almost all supplements.

After a few months (4-6 months) I have to reduce and finally to stop

them because they make me feel very sick. I start then with another

brand. The only supplements I have taken for a longer time are Immunocal

(since Dec.'97) (I switch for ImmunePro a few weeks ago to see if I can

have better results with that one) and B12 shots -hydroxy, that I have

taken for 1 year (but only a little dose each week).

Eliane,

how much do you take a day? I've been needing to take a gram of magnesium a

day and it's still not enough! I don't take more so I don't have other

problems from over dosing on it. At that rate, I'd have to take 10

capsules a day, so the container would last me only 10 days.

If it's more absorbable, maybe I could take less, have you found that?

I just ordered some Magnesium glycinate powder from beyond a century,

300 grams for 7.50. This would normally be a years supply I

think!!!!!!!. I don't know anything about it, but compared to the

other prices flying back and for, even if you need high doses, this

is very affordable.

I take Vital Life or Prime Life mag glycinate in capsule form available at

local healthfood store. Can look on bottle if you need more info. Been

taking that form since 1995.

Actually, absorption depends on what binders & fillers are used. So the

source maybe " well absorbed " on paper, in real life it is a very

different story.

Just pick up a copy of THE ULTIMATE HEALING SYSTEM by Lepore.

Magnesium Glycinate

" This form of magnesium provides superb absorption. " - Dr. Uzzi Reiss,

p.153 of Natural Hormone Balance for Women: Look Younger, Feel Stronger,

and Live Life With Exuberance.

thanks for your quick response. I found the company you mentioned on a search

engine. I have emailed them to ask if they will ship their goods to the United

Kingdom. Thanks again

You might also wish to check NEEDS or BAYHO for labs and Pure

Encapsulations Products. Both are good quality. These companies make

international shipping.

Hi Adam,

Sign up.. No problem with that. I work with them As far as I know their site

is trustable. labs products are only sold to members. That is what

labs asks them to do.

I am surprised about NEEDS process. They must have changed their way of

process since I have not given any orders. You might try contacting them

through their help desk. they have good service. They might find another way

to solve the problem.

Yes, It is a newer patented form of Magnesium. Excipent-free would be free of

any binders or fillers including IN the gel capsule.

Dear all,

I think my previous post did not get thru so I am re-posting.

I wish to try magesium on my child. He is inattentive, hyper at times, fidgety

and also very confused mind.

Visited Kirkman website and saw magnesium glycinate. Does it help ? Any good or

bad ? I read that magnesium glycinate is also for chelating aluminium but I am

not doing chelation so should I choose this or other forms of magnesium (which

type) ? What dosage should I give for a 45kg child ? Any long term side effects

?

Do I need to give calcium together with magnesium or I can just give magnesium

on its own ?

Appreciate all feedback.

Thanks and regards,

Anne

Hi Dana,

If I am not giving other supplements or vitamins/multivits, but just giving

magnesium and probiotics only, is there any harm in giving magnesium on long

term basis ? Will I " mess up " any minerals balance in his body ? I understand if

one gives too much magnesium, it may cause diahorrea, right ?

Regards,

Anne

We give magnesium alone....and we give one of two kinds..which have been the

most effective for us.....magnesium malate when you need malic acid for the

Krebs cycle and muscle pain...and magnesium chelate for general magnesium

needs....we also do espson salt soaks..but it seems to help with phenols more

than our usual magnesium needs..but who knows it may work otherwise for you.

Not that I know of. Once your body is fully loaded with magnesium, it should

start causing diarrhea. At my house tho, it started causing massive headaches.

So watch for those symptoms.

>>Will I " mess up " any minerals balance in his body ?

If the diarrea continues for a while, yes. Otherwise, I don't think so.
