Sub: Mumbai: J.J Hospital staff demands bribe from HIV+ve patients

/message/12441

Dear Roma/Forum,

I would like to clarify some facts which you have wrongly written.

My designation is Training Co-ordinator. Earlier I have worked as counselor in

ARCON.

Unfortunately ART centre has 12000 patients. But the staff sanctioned is

prescribed only for 2000 pts it means 4 times more than what is expected

therefore when there is no training programme I have to  go and work in ART

Centre.

I am not a PA for Dr. Deshpande. You are well aware that Dr. Deshpande is

working on Honorary basis and 99% of patients have acknowledge her selfless

services.

THE COLLECTION WAS FOR THE PROGRAMME OF OUR CENTRE (13/01/2011) AND THAT THE

COLLECTION WAS VOLUNTARY AND WAS DONE BY THE PATIENTS THEMSELVES. IT ONLY HURTS.

Thanking you,

Vaishali.

Dear forum,

Re: /message/12443

This is not the first time there are such negative responses to the staffs of

various sacs.

these responses were for the mail which might be sent with some intentions even

due to personal vengeance or so.

All the responses are only to the mail but not to the fact so before mailing up

your response kindly clarify with your representatives in the concerned

districts.

Even if there is malpractice the network there will be strong to oppose such

acts and get it cleared and i dont think we have a poor network.

To my knowledge and conscience we the staff here are true to our job and our

responsibilities so do not hurt anyone without the fact.

These local issues if approached strategically can be solved locally and of

course the medical officer there could be approached on such issues and i think

he/she will not be unapproachable.

Rewari sir kindly enlighten the fact in this issue to the forum.

If vaishali is true to her job kindly give her the consolation to her wound and

make these unnecessary mails to stop it right away.

with regards

Dear all

Re: /message/12452

Ref comments by Mr Sundar about JJ issues, this is to inform forum members that

an inquiry was initiated the same day a posting was made on forum web site by Ms

Roma.

The regional coordinator and MDACS officials were directed to visit the centre

on next day and submit a report. Do not think any programme acts so fast on a

posting in a forum.

I do not know what does Mr Sundar means by an ordinary response.

ART centre at JJ Hospital has been providing services for last many years and

nearly 6000 patients are taking ART from there and no such reports have been

received before. Nevertheless an inquiry was ordered immediately.

As far as MO is concerned , all centers have trained MOs who work under guidance

of Nodal officers. In case the MO leaves, the centre still functions under care

of nodal officer.

In this case Dr Deshpande has informed that she was seeing all patients along

with 3 doctors from her unit.

Regarding full time ART officer for the country, it is denied that we do not

have a full time officer. The division of ART is headed by an officer of rank of

ADG who has long experience in NACO.

Besides that I am available 24 by 7 for programme and hundreds of people on this

forum are testimony to that. There is a full time NPO supported by 3 programme

officers, 5 technical officers and 8 regional coordinators and staff at SACS

level

We are committed to provide quality services to PLHIV

Dear FORUM,

Re: /message/12452

I wonder some remarks of Mr.Sundar.

It is not the time to pull the legs of each other.r. It is the time to think

that how best a conducive solution can be taken.

The PLHAs are getting free ART (both first line and 2nd line treatment) across

all the states in the country and NACO is dedicated to it.

The people engaged in it have been providing the services at their best. As Mr.

Sunder pointed that Why do we expect that ART centres will function any better

than the rest of the public health

delivery system?

I want to share that ART Centres are part of the public health

delivery system. These are present in Medical colleges, district hospitals etc.

It is designated as such that PLHAs and other common people can easily identify

it in the designated places. It is earmarked for easy accessibility,

comprehensive treatment, care and follow up of PLHAs.

Regarding denial of treatment, it is the family members and near and dear

friends who always stigmatize and discriminate PLHAs in comparison to the health

care providers.

About the incident in JJ hospital, an inquiry has been ordered immediately.
