Guest guest
Andy / Others, I would appreciate your opinion on when to add ALA or if I should continue to wait until Mercury levels come down further. Here's why I ask. Our situation is unique to others. My child came from a third world country and received vaccinations there. My child came to the US at 7.5 months and got a complete second set of vaccinations starting over. Because of this, I believe my child most likely got a " double dose " of mercury. Therefore, I have been very careful and deliberate about how we are going about implementing AC protocol chelation. I have intentionally been using DMSA only to try to lower the body burden first before adding ALA. How low of a Mercury level should I look for on the urine metals test before adding ALA to ensure the body burden has been sufficiently lowered? History: DAN doc-DMSA challenge and low G6PD test. DAN said G6PD was genetic and would not change. DAN doc-CaEDTA IV's. Did for one year. Went broke. Retested G6PD and it was normal. July started AC protocol DMSA only at 5mg. Worked up to 20mg over 4 weeks. Urine Metals Test Results: 10-19-09 First Morning Urine - AC DMSA 20mg Mercury 1.9 (vs range <5) Lead 3.4 (vs range <5) Normal Creatinine 104 8-10-09 First Morning Urine - DMSA 20mg(First weekend AC at 20mg; 4th overall) Mercury 2.2 Lead 8.3 Low Creatinine 46 1-27-09 12 Hour Urine After CaEDTA IV Mercury 3.3 Lead 7.4 Low Creatinine 33 10-29-08 8 Hour Urine After CaEDTA IV Mercury 0.9 Lead 16 Low Creatinine 68 8-5-2008 8 Hour Urine After CaEDTA IV Mercury 0 Lead 5.1 Low Creatinine 11 5-8-2008 8 Hour Urine After CaEDTA IV Mercury 8.9 Lead 8.2 Low Creatinine 21 2-25-2008 8 Hour Urine After CaEDTA IV Mercury 1.1 Lead 9.7 Low Creatinine 48 11-15-2007 8 Hour Urine After DMSA Challenge (200mg?) Guest guest
You only need to wait to add ALA if there was a recent mercury exposure, within the last three months. This usually refers to amalgam removal, which is not usually the case with small children. It could be the case if they recently had a flu shot or other immunization.
