Guest guest
Hi I'm very sorry that your son is doing this and very much hope things improve. 60 hours is actually quite a short duration for a round, ideally a minimum of 66 hours would be more appropriate, however the dose seems pretty high to me, 1/8 - 1/2 mg per pound of body weight which would put your son on 23 mg rounded up to 25 mg at tops would be recommended. When starting chelation it would probably be better to start at a low dose and then stick with what is tolerable for about 6 rounds at a time before increasing and not to increase the dose by more than 50% at one time. There are adults who have trouble tolerating doses as little as 12.5 mg, and as many of our kids have trouble communicating their discomfort I personally feel erring on the low side would be better. This may possibly not be the reason that your son is doing this, but I would recommend this all the same. Other things to look at (and hopefully others would have some ideas) are increased yeast and possibly increased adrenal stress. Best wishes Kenny > > Dear All, > > Since finishing our last AC round (round 16)my son is hitting himself everytime I raise my voice at him. Could this be it ? i.e the long chelation time and the increase dose ? Guest guest
Hi Kenny, Sorry, I meant around 60 X3 hour sessions. In short we did from Friady mornign to Thursday morning of the following week. I agree that the dose is slightly higher but given that you can go up to 1mg per pound when doing DMSA alone, i thought I was doing well. It seems I was too high actually and will take your advice and go back to 1/2mg per pound. I think you are right about the yeast. I think once I get him back to a lower dose I should be fine. Hope the hitting stops. Thansk again for the quick reply > > > > Dear All, > > > > Since finishing our last AC round (round 16)my son is hitting himself everytime I raise my voice at him. Guest guest
My son also hits his face and bites his arms. I always hear people say that it sounds like yeast... we've been treating yeast for a year now. How long does yeast last??? we treat w/ Nystatin. Any other suggestions?? thx, saadya > > Dear All, > > Since finishing our last AC round (round 16)my son is hitting himself everytime I raise my voice at him. Guest guest
We use nystatin also but i have heard it doesn't work on all strains of yeast..and only works on yeast in the gut. We also use biotin/mag and S. Boulardii...lots of probiotics. Some like grape fruit seed extract and I have heard good things but my son doesn't tolerate. Oil or oregano is used by some also...  39 and Mom to three Tasha 22 ooops..new Mommy ( Grammy to Kyri 18/m) Casey-Mae 14..sweet as pie Elijah 2 1/2.. Guest guest
Magnesium may help, either adding or increasing the current dose. My son did this when his sensory issues were heightened. Sometimes this happened while detoxing, with yeast and sometimes when histamines were high. Right now is allergy season so if it came on suddenly, some natural antihistamines may help. Also, even if the chelator you use isn't binding to minerals like zinc and magnesium, the body utilizes more during detox. Guest guest
Lower his dose, our rounds last three days and two nights. My son is 6 and 50 pounds and he takes 25mg of dmsa. He's had 63 rounds though. For the first 40 rounds he took 12.5mg. Then he went to 20mg and then at 55 rounds he went to 25mg. Take his dose back down to where this was not happening. Self injury behavior is a symptom of mercury poisoning. Mercury makes you feel very angry and mean and you want to hurt, smash and destroy things. Especially if you get depressed or someone has yelled at you. For some reason you internalize it and blame yourself. At least from my perspective of when I was suffering from mercury, as was my older child who could tell me. Try giving him more vitamin C to help with post round symptoms. But keeping his chelation dose lower should help a lot. Self injurious behavior happened in my son before we began biomed. He used to bite himself and bang his head if he got angry. My older child also had problems with scratching herself when angry. Try adrenal support or supplemental lithium to help, between that and low dose chelation we have not seen these behaviors any more. > > > > > > Dear All, > > > > > > Since finishing our last AC round (round 16)my son is hitting himself everytime I raise my voice at him. I always hear people say that it sounds like yeast... we've been treating yeast for a year now. How long does yeast last??? we treat w/ Nystatin. Any other suggestions?? Nystatin is only effective against certain strains of yeast, and usually only helps for yeast in the GI tract. If you have different strains, or yeast in other places, Nystatin won't do much for you. What worked here for all yeast in all places, was GSE, ACV, Candidase, and biotin. Dana
Guest guest
Hi All, Thanks a million for your quick replies. Yeah, I am betting its the yeast as well. I will start him on Diflucan (always does the trick) and also do a few drops of GSE once a day. We tried nystatin in the past but my son does not respond to that. Take care and love you all > > > > My son also hits his face and bites his arms. I always hear people say that it sounds like yeast... we've been treating yeast for a year now.
