I am not an on line member but a " real " member. If anyone needs help or

information I can try and help you. WW has always been my " program " of

choice - notice I didn't say the " D " word!

in GA ---- who " only " lost .4 pounds this week making a total of 91.3

pounds gone and 1 week from my 9 month anniversary (which is on the 4th of

July!)

Thanks for sharing that you actually lost weight on your cruise! How cool

Okay Suzanne I am holding you to that promise.lol. I know I will lose weight

again because I don't eat a third of what I used to eat so it has to come

off. I think today I will begin an exercise program. It's just so hard to take

that first step and then to keep doing it. Thanks for an encouraging word. I

will follow your advice about the protein and let you know what happens.

Thanks so much for the advice! I've taken corectal today due to reading that

it can cause a problem, but haven't tried the stool softener. I sure could

have used one a few minutes ago! WOW, it felt like giving birth! And I don't

think I'm through.

I've really had a positive experience so far so am trying to follow the

doctor's orders to the T. Not sure what kind of girdle to buy. Did you have good

results with any particular brand?

Thanks again,

Suzanne

Are you talking about the MGB (are you a preop) or are you talking

about the tummy tuck?

If you are a preop they signed you up to the wrong list - you should

be on the preop list. This is the postop list.

Thank you, Suzanne, for your kind words. I am going in to see the doctor

this morning since I spiked a fever of 101 last night. I just want to check

it out before the weekend. I sure do not ever want to go to the ER again.

I have heard a lot of stories from a lot of people in the last week

about how ovarian tumors have been no big deal for everybody I know

who has had them. That made me feel much better. However, all

these people had them before menopause.

Apparently, a large solid mass with an irregular shape after

menopause is a little more scary. I had looked up some of the words

on the first radiology report on google, and it hadn't worried me

too much.

This evening, I happened to google ovarian tumor after menopause,

and finally got scared. I do have a lot of the symptoms. But, I

also know that I don't have any of the major cancer markers like

ascites, metastasis, or lymph-something from the CT report. I am

curious, though, if the difference in measurement from the CT scan

and the ultrasound is measurement error due to the difference in

radiologists, or if the sucker has really grown 60 mm in the last

two weeks.

I am scheduled for surgery Thursday morning. They will do a biopsy

while I am on the operating table, and if it is cancer, the

oncological gynecologist will come in and clean it out.

It is going to be a busy couple of days -- the workman's comp doc

wants me to try to get 3 physical therapy sessions for my cervical

spine and trapezius muscle before I see him again on wednesday. I

go for the first one during my planning period on monday and I go

for my pre-op blood work immediately after work on monday.

I called in for a day off courtesy of workman's comp on wednesday --

the doctor wants to see me during the school day while his xray tech

is there. I assume I can do a PT appointment that morning and eat

some Thai food so the bowel cleaning stuff can have a bit of help.

I am not looking forward to writing 4 - 6 weeks worth of lesson

plans -- especially since I need to write 9 weeks worth before I get

evaluated on Monday or Tuesday. At least I know what I taught in

the last 9 weeks!

I am trying to look for the bright side -- only two more days to

work until I can get some nice rest! My worst class was in the room

when the scheduler called to give me the time and all the pre-op

info yesterday. They were much more subdued today. Some of them

are worried they may get a babysitter instead of someone who can

actually explain algebra 2 to them.

I got home tonight to find there is a short somewhere in my patio

room where all my electronics are. Fortunately, I found a long

extension cord for the cable modem. I hope I can get the problem

resolved quickly! That is my favorite room in the house. I have

been thinking of trying to put a bed in there after the revision

surgery since Dr Bridwell says I can only use the stairs once per

day.

I know cysts can absolutely grow that fast...so maybe??? Sounds like

you are on top of even the worse case scenario. You have a lot of

strength and I admire you....I'm sure you'll even get through those

lesson plans. I will be thinking of you on Thursday. (I think of you

whenever I hear Neil Diamond...which is a lot!) Hey why not set up a

bed in your favorite room! Sounds right to me..but for what its

worth...I didn't have problem with stairs. I live in a third floor walk

up. Sitting was the hardest...

thanks, Ann! I love that you mentioned Neil Diamond -- I hope you

find hearing him to be an enjoyable experience.

My favorite album to listen to when I need to reduce my stress in

Livingston Seagull. It is such beautiful music! I also have

fond memories of the album because after my harrington rod surgery, my

first foray out of the house (other than visiting the doctor) was to

buy this album. I loved the book and the movie was very beautiful and

insprirational. I felt like I could stand up a little bit straighter

everytime I saw the movie (and I tried to go as often as possible!)

Suzanne,

The photos are awesome! I know it must have been somewhat difficult to

hack off your lovely locks...but I think you look great now, and I know

you will have a much easier time managing yourself after the

surgery...not to mention the question of keeping your surgical wounds

clean and dry.

Just think how much easier it will be to keep it highlighted or colored

if you decide to lose the grey...and lastly...in the pool it will be so

much easier to deal with the cholorine!

I don't know what your mother looked like but she must have been a

pretty lady.

Take Care, Cam

I am not really worried about the marks themselves, but I know we had

had some discussion about where the central line goes, and I hadn't

known exactly what to expect. I have lots of other red marks, so I

am not sure if it was as obvious as I expected. The central line was

on my chest between my breast and shoulder blade -- about even with

the arm pit. It had three ports and stayed in until the day before I

came home. It hurt more than I expected the first day --especially

when I turned my neck or moved my arm, but after that, it wasn't so

bad.
