Guest guest
....giggling while being reprimanded in time out... Sigh. My daughter is almost 4. We moved about a month ago so this could be acting out, or just normal toddler behavior, or yeast or a combo of everything. Her teacher just called to suggest that she leave school during nap time since she spends the entire time yelling at the kids (apparently the other 4 kids are actually laying down and quiet) to lay down and be quiet. Nap time is at 12:45-1:30. She leaves at 1:30 to come home. They're suggesting she leave at 12:30. This is a spec needs class. I'm frustrated. She's my only child so I'm not sure what's normal where teacher communication with parents go. I get the impression that the teacher can't figure out what to do with her. Shouldn't she? We haven't spoken yet (she left a message). I thought spec ed teachers had procedures they followed. I certainly have no clue what to do. Any suggestions? My inclination is to give her time to adjust (she's been there since the beginning of October - is that enough time?). But then again, if SHE were the one napping quietly and another kid was disruptive and loud I wonder if I'd feel differently. I plan to go visit the class tomorrow to observe her behavior and meet with the teacher. But I thought I'd come here to some of you vets with older kids to see what you've done in these types of situations since I anticipate this may happen again when she's older. Thanks!
