Guest guest
I start on MB12 next week.my megaloblasic anemia panel was quite high.I use folinic acid too.I can post a link sometime about why you need to take CoQ10 with it.I was diagnosed as a child with a cardiac conduction defect, and I have a history of recurring rheumatic fever.I am hoping to be tested for PANDAS soon.My autism was triggered by meningitis as a baby, and my mother had multiple dental fillings for about fifteen years before I was born.As an adult,I have had two major autistic regressions, lasting two to ten years each. One triggered by pneumonia, and the other by meningitis. Each time I have a fever, and the fever goes away, there is increased autistic symptoms, like head banging, stimming, etc. > > Hello, . > > We are in the same age range. I don't think we were given thimerosal-free vaccines, just not as many at a young age. I think I remember my shot record (and i got them all; dad was a pediatrician) showed 5-6 shots by the time I entered kindergarten. I don't know much about genetics, but I do know the COMT/MTHFR issues can be complicating but not diagnostic for Autism. > > MTHFR (C677T/A1298C): do you have elevated homocysteine? I've been told to take methylB12, Folate (in methyl tetrahydrofolate) and B6. There is apparently an increased risk of eye, skeletal and cardiac problems (especially when present with other genetic factors that I cannot name for you). Looks like that anemia panel shows the same need. > > As far as chelating goes, you describe yourself as a person sensitive to symptoms and regression. Based on what you tell us, I don't know how your MD can determine which chelators you can tolerate. Perhaps he just likes this HMD and wants to impress you by labeling it as 'natural chelation'??? No such thing as natural chelation outside of what your body is designed to do on its own. HMD contains cilantro and chlorella. MANY MANY people who are follow Andy Cutler's protocol are doing so because they have seen so much damage from products like HMD. I, myself, have never tried it. Cilantro is unstudied and unpredictable. Please forgive my butchering of science, but chlorella contains 1 thiol and 2 thiols (DMSA, ALA, DMPS) are needed to tightly bind to mercury so it can be excreted and not tossed around in the body. Chlorella could cause you big problems. > > My recommendation to you would be to try DMSA/ALA in low and frequent doses. Better to find out you are intolerant at a low dose than a mega dose! Start with 1/8th mg per lb of weight. Take it every 3-4 hours (around the clock; wake up at night!) for 72 hours. Rest for at least 72 hours and try it again. Maybe use just DMSA for a few rounds and add ALA in. > > Probably need a yeast fighter. Grapefruit seed extract works here. Also, reduce carbohydrates (especially sugar). Find a multimineral low in copper/manganese/iron. > > Good luck to you! Talk to your DAN! about trying this low/frequent dosing plan. My guess is that he will roll his eyes at the thought of Andy Cutler. Really, their beef with Andy is more personal than clinical. I'm sure they don't appreciate the open criticism and they believe his protocol is " inconvenient " and unnecessarily conservative. A little inconvenience to stay healthy is worth it! > > Pam >
