Guest guest
I'm sure you'll get better advice but this sounds like she's in pain. Gut pain? Constipation? Reflux? Headaches? What about stopping all those supplements for awhile until you can get a handle on what is causing it? Can she use PEC's or a device to let you know what type of pain she's in? Do you have a DAN doctor or Naturopath? Kathy [ ] HELP - Self injurious behaviour > Hi All; > > My 6 yo severe daughter's self injurious behaviour is out of control. Guest guest
> My 6 yo severe daughter's self injurious behaviour is out of control. She is constantly using closed fists to hit herself in the head. She throws herself on the floor and hits her head on the floor repeatedly if we don't intervene. Last night she put a hole in her bedroom wall with her head. She also bites things so hard that her teeth are bleeding or falling out (she is naturally losing some baby teeth though). These sound like severe headache, which at my house was caused by certain foods, overdosing of certain supplements, and yeast in the head/brain. > Yeast is always suspect, but is it always yeast?? No frothy yeast poop... Yeast in the head/brain did not have any effect on the bms here. >>This is her current yeast schedule: > - Candex twice per day > - Sacc B at least twice per day > - Copious probiotics -- Custom probiotics 3x/day > - Coconut kefir - whenever I can get it into her > - GSE (5 drops per dose) 3x/day > - Oil of oregano 1 drop 2x/day (I can't increase this - it makes her more crazy) > - Biotin 20 mg twice per day Give the biotin with magnesium, unless that causes diarrhea. Biotin without magnesium can also cause major headaches. That GSE dose would not have done anything for my son when his yeast was REALLY bad. What other supps do you give? Guest guest
Hi Kim I really feel for you, we have been there ourselves and are aware that we may end up back there again. Kathy may have a point about stopping the supplements and hopefully people here will help better than I can. The Biotin to me seems very high and if your daughter does not tolerate phenols then GSE and I think OOO could be a problem especially if not given with a no-phenol enzyme. Low Iron(ferretin) can cause the biting as so can possibly low Zinc. Maybe Poor adrenals could be a problem. A DDI hair test maybe useful regarding this. If knocking all the supps on the head does'nt help it might be worth trying Nystatin to confirm if yeast is an issue, it does'nt help everyone, but might be worth ago. Taurine may also be helpful. I'm sorry I could'nt be more helpful, but I feel your desperation and hope things work out well for you. P.S. Stuffing tissue paper(slightly damp and allow to dry) or newspaper in the hole and then covering it with polyfilla( I'm not sure what it's called in the U.S.) and then sanding it when dry and painting it might help, unless the hole is very big, then you might need a bit of plaster board. All the best Kenny > > I'm sure you'll get better advice but this sounds like she's in pain. Gut > pain? Constipation? Reflux? Guest guest
My son stopped slamming his head on the floor/wall when we eliminated all soy and derivatives from his diet, all artificial colors, preservatives, flavors, etc. and added magnesium and digestive enzymes. It is horrible to watch, hang in there and keep trying until you find something that works. > > Hi All; > > My 6 yo severe daughter's self injurious behaviour is out of control. Guest guest
Hello, My daughter is mid on the spectrum and we experienced " a little " of that behavior. I'm new to this but I think Kathy is right when she says to stop the supplements. I did that and found that I was giving way too much for yeast. s Re: [ ] HELP - Self injurious behaviour I'm sure you'll get better advice but this sounds like she's in pain. Gut pain? Constipation? Guest guest
stop for a few weeks or a month, put back in probiotics first very slowly. check with your DAN doctor or practitioner too to make sure she is not sick with strep or an ear infection. my dd's behavior when severe always comes from illness or discomfort. it does sound like too many products. when in doubt take what your giving your child and see how you feel ! if your concerned about yeast, cut back on sugar, give a good diet and lots of good water. kathy RE: [ ] HELP - Self injurious behaviour > Hello, > My daughter is mid on the spectrum and we experienced " a little " of that > behavior. Guest guest
This is something I've observed as well, and the person generally seems entirely unaware that he/she acted in such a manner. But I don't personally buy the multiple personality stuff, just more ways shrinks have invented to profit from confusion. It seems to be that excessive vaccinations+amalgams did this, but pesticides are a strong possibility because there was heavy use of them around the child in this case, too. Prayer? Yeah, always. From: sunrose101@... <sunrose101@...> Subject: [ ] Re:HELP - Self injurious behaviour Date: Sunday, April 19, 2009, 7:54 AM Kim, after a major pesticide exposure my daughter began banging her head against the lexan over the window so hard I didn't know how she could stand it.? She was perfectly able to speak and tell me what any problem might be. Interestingly, there never was a mark on her forehead, nor did she seem to suffer any ill effects from it.? Now this might sound odd: however, people with multiple personalities can have poison ivy in one personality and not the other, need glasses in one personality, not the other, ect.? It seemed that when she went into these rages (for lack of a better word), she was invincible.? Once in church, she fell asleep and her forehead hit the back of the pew ahead, and she got a little bruise, since she wasn't in that other mental state. I'm not saying is it Shauna? -- that your daughter has different personalities, just that altered mental states bring different results.? There is also an endorphin kick or high from aggression.? What healed my daughter of that was a lot of prayer. Francine

But I don't personally buy the multiple personality stuff, just more ways shrinks have invented to profit from confusion. One of my kids will occasionally report that he feels as if he has multiple personalities. This is always when I have stopped giving him his B12. Once I start it back, he reports that the problem has gone away. Dana
Guest guest
Hi All; Thanks so much to all those who posted great suggestions to my daughter's SIB issue. To answer some of your questions -- her diet is very pure, GFCFSF corn free, sugar free, yeast free, preservative/colouring free, organic (everything is made from scratch). Along with the yeast fighters listed previously, she takes all the supps recommended by AC as we are chelating. Yes, I do have alot of investigating to do. In the meantime my DAN prescribed some diflucan to see if it could quell the SIB. It has helped some. I think we have some work to do with parasites and clostridia. Thanks again, Kim
