oops, wrongo, looks like it is not available any longer???

>>we have the link on the TA site - its the old copy Steph wnats if I read her right - and you need to keep that copy yourself as far as I know you can't go back and call it up.

Steph your best bet is to think back and do it again, cut and paste from the screen and add the desired date. In the meantime I can mail Steve Edelson and see if there is anyway to trace the old one?

I remember that the ability to save and return to the old one was

there when I created it. Damn! Should have kept it somewhere. I

probably have but my Tom FIles now run to a mountain!

Alasdair got a 32. I am going to try to use this to keep track of chelation progress.

>>>Don't worry if it doesn't move much - once you get down to lower 30's its hard to move quickly - where does he score highest? - Sam is 38 now (and functions no where near the level of Alasdair) but 22 of those points are Speech and Language - I don't count PECs or signs as words - if I did the ATEC would have him as recovered. When we started out it was health that scored the highest.

Make a note of the ambiguous parts of the ATEC so you remember how you filled it in. Get the therapists to do it too - you can print it and they can fill in and then you enter on site and get the score.

Some answers that change over time can change the score when perhaps they shouldn't because of being age related - like is it a major problem if a 2 year old is in diapers - not at all - if he is 12 then it is.

I still think the ATEC is valuable - just be aware of its limitations

Hi Mandi,

I have pasted his test and scoring below. Yes, I thought it was good but not sensitive enough - for example, a lot of Alasdair's weakness shows up in interaction with other children. He does not see things from their point of view and it leads to social misunderstanding and isolation. His weaknesses are social, although I was surprised that cognitive stuff showed up highest on his ATEC. So maybe ATEC is not the most sensitive tool for measuring improvement in the Aspergery end of things. We are on round 5 of chelation - doing round 6 this weekend. I have lower back pain going on seven days and am worried it is kidneys, although I have no history of kidney probs. Alasdair seems fine - we will have results of kidney/liver function tests soon so that will tell us more. We have results of UTMs and Alasdair is excreting a lot of lead and nickel - lead almost very elevated range, nickel elevated. Also excreting mercury, arsenic, cadmium, thallium, tin and tungsten. I am excreting arsenic, cadmium, lead, mercury, nickel, thallium and tin, all within reference range although mercury and nickel are at the highest end, almost into the elevated range. My memory is just as bad as ever and Alasdair seems to be a bit better overall, although it is hard to tell. I will keep you updated.

I don't know why it isn't working but if you don't fill out the email spot just

fill out the questions you can get the score. You could print off the form and

fill it out to have a copy of how you answered the questions then save the

results to a file. Maybe once they fix it you can go back and enter the info

again. Just leave everything blank except the questions.
