Guest guest
I spoke with enzymedica about candidase and they siad that you can take it with probiotics. For a long time, I was giving my daughter the recommended dosage which made her more stemmy. We have reduced down to 1/2 capsule which works much better. (8 yrs 55lbs). s [ ] Candidase/ Candex? What's the difference between these two? Do you guys add them along with your probiotic for yeast control or are they in replacement of your probiotics? Guest guest
They are both enzymes that digest the outer coating or membrane of yeast cells so that the immune system can inactivate them better. They do not replace antifungals or probiotics. They do work the same way. They don't " kill " the yeast like the antifungal, they just allow the body to kill it easier. These did not work for us for yeast. We went back on antifungals. They do seem to help many though. I'd use them in conjuction with probiotics and an antifungal. > > What's the difference between these two? Guest guest
I take the cell wall exterior coating off of the yeast with candidaise or candex making it a piece of cake for my yeast killers to come in and do their work. No eating for 1-2 hours. If you eat food enzymes will help digest food instead of the cell wall exterior of the yeast. 2 hours before a meal is best. If my children like to eat when they wake up, I dose it 2 hours before they wake up. 2 hours later I use a yeast killer. I dose the yeast killer with meals, it's ok. 1 hour later I mop up dieoff (if needed) with activated charcoal trying to keep the charcoal 1 hour away from the meal so as not to absorb nutrients from foods. ideally after the meal but 1-2 hours away from yeast killers I replace the good guys with probiotics. Yeast killers given too close to probiotics will just kill the probiotics. Middle of the night I dose oreganol to kill of extra yeast/bacteria/etc. Oreganol should be given 2 hours away from everything on either side so we dosed with a bottle of water by the bed and he swallowed it then rolled over and went back to sleep. I found timing to be very important. This method was very successful for yeast for us. We also rotate yeast killers, on one thing for 2 months, then rotate to another yeast killer for 2 months, then rotate to another, then repeat. This was to prevent the body building a resistance to the yeast killer. our yeast killers of choice are MCT oil, Uva Ursi, and Grapefruit seed extract. Guest guest
The difference between Candidase and Candex is that Candidase has protease enzymes as well and many people find it a little harsher for really sensitive kids. If you do decide to buy, try on-line at iherb.com for a much better price. We've used Candidase along with probiotics (up to 50 billion CFUs) and occassionally Sac Boulardii for the last 3 years to control yeast. We've been able to do without yeast " killers " either prescription or natural by using the Candidase 2X/day and probiotics 2X/day in combination. The amount could be anywhere from 1/2 cap 2X/day for maintenance to 2 caps 2X/day for flares. Our schedule was: Candidase-1st thing in the am-1 hour before breakfast Probiotics-after breakfast Probiotics-after dinner Candidase-Right before bedtime (approx 1.5-2 hours after dinner) It is important to give Candidase on an empty stomach, but because my son can't swallow pills I did empty the capsule into a little juice. It still seemed to work ok. Hope that helps. > > What's the difference between these two? Guest guest
I'm noticing that after giving him the candidaise he gets a bit of red cheeks and his kinda in a cranky mood for the rest of the day. Is that normal or should I discontinue use? > > I take the cell wall exterior coating off of the yeast with candidaise or candex making it a piece of cake for my yeast killers to come in and do their work. Guest guest
We noticed Red cheeks when giving Oil of Oreg. It could be yeast die off, or reactions to high phenol. Not sure if Candidase/candex is high in phenol though. From: <gizbaby123@...> Subject: [ ] Re: Candidase/ Candex?
