Could even be yeast flare up, though that seems pretty quick. Try the C and the

Mag.

When you first start chelating there seems to be a lot of toxins coming out and

it can cause some issues.

You can give quite a bit of C, until it loosens the bowels even.

Chelation causes oxidative stress, thus the need for antioxidants like C and E.

Yes, we are using the 3 hr day and 4 hr night protocol. She got a dose at 8 am,

then turned rotten shortly after that, maybe 1/2 to 1 hour later. Would you

still recommend dosing more frequently, with a lower dose? What about nighttime?

Thanks for your help.

Don't know of any other protocol that is safe and effective with so many success

stories.

You just need to adjust the dose and supporting supps to make your child a

little more comfortable.

Please don't give up.

Thanks. We have used activated charcoal and she swallows the capsules like a

pro, and it usually does help to calm her down. It's just that sometimes the

dosing is tricky - like, I want to use it *now*, but have to wait a while!

Is this an unusual reaction, and is it a signal that maybe this is not the right

protocol for us?

It's not actually the ALA causing the yeast, it's the mercury it pulls from the

body into the gut.

The mercury kills the good bacteria in the gut, leaving space for the yeast to

jump in there and grow.

That's why they add it to the vaccines as a preservative.

Even transdermal ALA will do this.

, you and others have mentioned Chromium with meals before (for those who

don't know) and I would just like to add that my son did the worst when we were

using both Taurine and ALA because both lower blood sugar.

I tried a natural blood sugar helper (ND recommended) when my doctor told me I

was pre-diabetic with a 105 blood sugar a few years ago. I felt soooo sick on

the stuff I had to stop taking it, shaky, sweaty, sick in the stomach,

lightheaded, confused. I thought it was lowering my blood sugar too much. I

changed my diet, and started a lot of other things and my blood sugar is fine,

but I was curious and looked up the ingredients in the supplement when I was at

the health food store recently, now that I know so much more. I was SHOCKED to

find the stuff had 250 mg of ALA in it! I was taking 4 caps a day! I have

amalgams, prior Rhogam shot, flu shot, etc. NO WONDER I felt so sick. Thank

goodness I stopped taking it.

We're doing ALA alone too. So far nothing but good.

My son has issues sometimes with low blood sugar. I make sure he eats something

about every 2-3 hours and steady glycemic things.

On round he eats constantly. Every 10 minutes he's pestering for more food. It's

great! He was so emaciated for so long - and this year I have to buy him new

fall/winter clothes. I didn't have to do that the past 2 autumns. He put on

jeans from spring and complained because they became capris, and his belt

wouldn't fit around his waist. He's still 6 yo and only weighs 43 lbs, but he's

not bone and tendon only anymore.

I am assuming she is taking a dose that is 1/8-1/2mg per pound on a 3 hour

dosing. Hopefully, she's at the 1/8mg. If not, you may consider lowering it. If

she is at that low starting dose here are other things to help:

My daughter is always irritable beginning a round. For her it's just part of

moving mercury and the stress it creates on her adrenals. My son also used to

get this way in the beginning of chelation, say the first 10 rounds. He rarely

does now. We found epsom salt baths were a life saver for calming him down. The

irritability is par for the course usually but it gets better as you get more

rounds done. It can be managed with supplements. Making sure yeast is not a

factor, making sure enough antioxidants are being taken, and looking at adrenal

support if it becomes a problem that is not solved with the previously mentioned

things.

Try the epsom salt baths, increasing magnesium is very calming.

Adding some vitamin C helps when your moving mercury.

In fact I have come up with my own " anti irritable " remedy for chelation over

the years that works well.

We mix Vitamin C powder, magnesium powder, calcium powder and some sea salt into

about 3 ounces of juice and drink it. Usually, we feel better within 20 minutes.

(make the doses appropriate to her size).

The fact that your seeing irritability means your onto something here.

It validates that there IS mercury that needs to come out.

Hang in there....it's hard. But it will get better and with some detective work

you can find things to help her.

A note on low blood sugar....this is regulated by adrenal function.

Adrenal support can go a long way in helping correct this while you remove the

metals that have caused the low adrenal function and the subsequent blood sugar

regulation issues.

I suffer this affliction, as do both kids in varying degrees. I take chromium

three times a day and am on adrenal cortex. Recently the doc put me on

Hydrocortisone also but you can't do that for children.

With this I am seeing improvements in my blood sugar. (other than on rounds when

it is aggravated again)

My daughter and son take adrenal cortex. I used chromium for my son for about a

year and that helped a lot. Eventually it made him hyper and we stopped. We also

follow the eat frequently and always with protein motto. You want to avoid

sugars of course, don't each starches without a protein.

Eventually, as metals are out, the adrenals will do their job again and this

problem will go away.

We also found one child needed the dmsa/ala every 2.5 hours for a number of

rounds.

DMSA is not prescription only YET. You can still buy it in the U.S but not for

much longer. And it is still OTC in Canada and England.

Hi Jan,

How much chrmium do you take? I also have troubles with my bloodsugar, and take

chromium + vanadylsulfate 1 tablet in the morning, 'cause that's what is written

on the bottle. So I just follow that, but if I can take more, I'd like to try

that to see how I'll feel then.

Thanks, Nicoline

Thanks for the suggestions Jan. I was just thinking today that epsom salt baths

might be useful, and extra Vit C as some people have suggested. I have been

thinking a lot about adrenal fatigue and how it may be an issue for her. I

posted a question for you a few days ago - I will try to find it and bump it, if

you get a chance to look.

Thanks so much.

I presume she has NO mercury amalgam dental fillings. Do you have a yeast

protocol in place?

We started ALA yesterday afternoon at 1/8mg per lb and my daughter is just

miserable this morning - in a really rotten mood, ranting at everyone - it's

just awful. I'm guessing I should cut down the dose before abandoning this

altogether.

Any suggestions?

Thanks.

Hi ,

Moving mercury caused an increase in yeast, regardless of the chelator or route

of chelation.

Not chelating yet but close - maybe a dumb question but I'm a little confused

about this message - does ALA kill yeast or cause yeast?

No amalgam fillings. We just restarted probiotic, but that's it for yeast.

Waiting for Candex to come in too, but she doesn't seem yeasty. We increased

the frequency to 2.5/3.5 hrs, which seemed to help. Her behavior did improve by

end of yesterday, and she was pretty good all day today.

congrats on figuring that out.
