Guest guest
I don't know who else ot ask, two DAN! doctors have gotten us nowhere on this topic, I am hoping you can help with the mystery itching!! Our four year old will be going on to round 8 next, we started out with DMSA and added the ALA at round 6. We have had to use 1.5mg of each, because he is SO sensitive to the chelation agents. We were seeing severe reactions (sleep issues, bed wetting, extreme stimming, sensory issues, tics, severe emotion, spaciness, fatigue, etc) with 1/8mg per pound, so we are down to 1/16mg per pound. I also just started ACE this week, so far just 1/4 of a capsule per day, is this enough or should we increase? Anyway, lately and since we started the ALA, he is itching ALL over his body ALL the time. It's so bad even in between rounds now (11 day breaks), that he can't even play a simple game of catch without itching both legs, his head, face, feet, constantly!! He has always had an issue with swatting at and rubbing his face, ears and head, but that was either a yeast or bacteria sign (at least I think?), which subsided with treatment (OoO, Biotin and No Fenol) and now, this severe itching actually seems to INCREASE with his yeast treatments, plus he is on Nystatin! So I don't get it. I can't tell if it's an allergy to everything around him lately (23 IgG foods were removed 8 months ago), stress related, because it gets worse with stressful situations (and he has trouble with anger and stress, high stress hormone on OAT) or if it's yeast. We just went off Diflucan after ten days and we will go back on that in another ten days for ten more days. We were on flagyl for bacteria as well, ten days for that too. I don't know what is what lately....He has had some GREAT days recently and I mean really perfect, but it's never consistent. We will have perfect days and then awful days, back to back. I don't know what to do for him now. Benedryl does sometimes reduce the itching...does this mean allergy or is histamine being released for other reasons?
