My instructions to parents is that it's their choice. If they feel their

child functions better and the family dynamics are better with the child

taking the medication, then go ahead. If the child only needs it for

concentrating in school, then only use it on school days.

Hi,

I'd like some feedback on the medication used for ADHD children. It'd be great

if you can share with me the name of the medication, it's effectiveness & any

side effects, the number of times you take per day & whether it's pill-form or

liquid form.

I'm thinking of putting my son on medication but have not done any research on

the various types of medicine yet.

Thank you so much.

What would the medication be addressing? Does he have food allergies?

We used the Daytrana patch. We had problems with it staying on well. Also, it

hugely suppressed appetites. It worked really well for about 6 weeks then

nothing. Not sure what that means as far as how it is affecting the body's

chemistry. I would also like to find something to help with focus issues. It is

a big missing piece right now.

www.feingold.org is SAFE, beneficicial, and most likely much more effective than

any drug.
