Guest guest
Thanks Sharon for a good explanation... I'm thrilled that it's working for Mike. I am taking Neurontin which is also an anti-seizure med. Do you happen to know if it helps hypoprofusion at all? Guest guest
Hi Sharon, Thanks for the information, sounds like a good drug, glad Mike is doing well with it. Ashame though that younger kids cannot use it. I personally feel like my IQ has dropped and it is harder for me to grasp new things, that once would have been a cinch. We had to put him back on depakote( he was on it before this last try with Lamictal), rash gone and I'm hoping we can stay at a level where he is not a zombie and do poorly scholastically. We just moved to Texas and we have a Neuro appt on Friday. Let you know if anything good comes of it. You can to cut back on lamictal and increase more slowly and see if that helps the rash. Guest guest
From the sounds of that one, I think I might prefer to have seizures! Seriously, and it's not like I enjoy them... I'm kind of worried... off to see a neurologist for the first time in a couple of years next week. Maybe they'll find something that'll work for me... or perhaps I'll still endure them causing more episodes. Nai On Nov 16, 2005, at 8:37 PM, hey_pep wrote: > I got the rash. It was horrible. Tell your doctor that Lamictal can also cause urine retention that is not even obvious and that this expanded bladder can lead to other very serious health issues. My late son was on Lamictal for several years. It can also affect both the quality and depth of sleep. I would strongly suggest you learn what triggers your seizures and help yourself by minimizing those triggers. mjh " The Basil Book " http://foxhillfarm.us/FireBasil/

For what it's worth, I've had a seizure the day after having a glass of white wine every single time I have tried it. I spent my birthday last year in the ER, the night before I had 2 white wine spritzers. Last Thanksgiving I had a glass of red wine, and was fine. I'm not sure if red wine metabolizes differently, but that's been my experience with alcohol and AEM's. You know what? Now I stick with soda, I've even gone so far as to ask for club soda in a white wine glass. It's just not worth taking the chance. susan

Guest guest
I am currently taking topamax and lamictal. The doctor is slowly taking me off the topamax and putting me on the lamictal. Guest guest
We have just started Lamictal for my son whose spect scan showed slightly seizure prone frontal lobes. We are just at 5mg and have to go up to 150 mg over the next few months. Our DAN said it could actually reduce his stimming and ocd but it has made him a lot more stimmy. Has anyone had an experience like this?
