I had ACE injections whenever I badly relapsed. Got it from a naturopathic dr.

in rhinebeck, NY--Stephan Rechtschaffen. It pulled me out of a crisis, but

didn't make me feel great. i used it as

crisis intervention.

I read about ACE in a book I've mentioned before, written by Joan Mathews

Larson,, a PhD nutritionist who treats alcoholics biochemically, correcting

amino acid problems, adrenal insufficiency, EFA's, etc. She mentioned a Dr.

Tintera, an endocrinologist from the 50's who treated alcoholics and their

hypoglycemia by getting to what he believed to be the root of the problem, their

crummy adrenals. He treated with diet and ACE. I found a pharmacy that

compounded and sold it, UPI, Unique Pharmaceuticals Inc. I believe you can also

get it from Dr. Gaby and Dr. 's dispensary out of Seattle, among other

places. I called around to a number of Dr's. offices to find out what they used

and what their experiences were with it. The nurses told me this was not

something pateints stayed on all their lives, usually 6 months to 2 years. My

local alternative DO had heard of it and was amenable to the idea and we

started at 5cc, with a couple of other ingredients, IV push , once a week(it is

also available IM). The actual " cocktail " differs with practitioners. I started

at once a week. then slowly (over a period of weeks) worked up to 2-3x a week

for while and then backed off to a " maintenance dose " of 1-2x week 3cc, I think.

I noticed a very subtle difference in about a month. I just felt stronger, and

and less like a CFS victim. As I mentioned before, I eventually returned to

seriously gardening, picking up the pace with my home study nutrition course,

having a life, walking 3 miles 3-4 times/ week, with " normal " friends. I felt

like there was something between me and that exhaustion. I also had hope that my

life might actually be semi-normal again.

I weaned off it (after 4 months or so) after my doc' and I discussed my

worsening rosacea (a condition that came after CFS) and PMS. Unfortunately I

had a serious family medical crisis (other than mine) that involved 4 weeks of

intensive care, and still months of rehab for my 12 year old step daughter. So,

it is impossible to say how much lasting benefit I might have had if I hadn't

been totally stressed out. I went downhill for months from the stress and the

toxicity of photography chemicals from a darkroom class I started about a month

before getting off the ACE. I think I was just desperate to return to my

" previous life " and in denial about the obvious " dangers " of the class. I am

still not up to quite what I had 6 months ago. But, I did get a normal adrenal

stress test out of it. I think the chemicals from the class have actually done

the most damage, knowing what I know now about how severely compromised my

" detox pathways " are.

If anyone wants more info' I will try to look up my folder on it although I am

a little slo' mo ' these days. Also, you may contact me directly if you want

more info're: the treatment.

are you going to get back of ACE did you know that kutapressin is a drug

rosacea and is also a drug for CFS --maybe it would help in both areas.

I have Allergy Research Group's " Adrenal Cortex " .

Is this the same ACE that everyone is talking about?

It says, " Adrenal Cortex Tissue (bovine) on the back.
