White fillings - how to be safe?

My daughter needs a couple of cavities filled and wondering how to be as safe as

possible in regards to the white fillings? I have read of some white fillings

from China being contaminated and can't remember if it was with lead or mercury.

I called our dentist's office and they said there white fillings are sourced

from the U.S and Lichtenstein. I am more inclined to trust fillings from a

European country as I think the safety standards in Europe are generally better

than here in the U.S. I'm wondering if checking on the the country of origin is

good enough and if fillings, from say the U.S., can be trusted to be free of

contaminants. I will appreciate any thoughts on how to proceed while minimizing

the risk of toxins in the fillings. Thanks!
