The Integra. Its considered the cadillac of o2 concentrators and it

has a high enough flow rate to handle the backflow pressure of the

mild chambers.

Thank you Dr. B and Jill for the quick response to my question about oxygen

concentrators, I truly appreciate it.

Dear Jill,

The oxygen concentrator is $850 plus shipping by FedEx ground.

To your location, that is probably $20.

It goes from .05 liters/minute to .5 liters/minute.

(which is 1/20 to 1/2 l/m).

Best of Health!

Saul, how much is your oxygen concentrator? What flow rates does it

go from and to? Thx...Jill

Thanx. I know you told me once before but I couldn't remember. I am

finding it a big hassle to keep trying to run from the bedroom to the

livingroom adjusting the Integra in minute increments until that

guage that Dennis & you recommended gets down to .5 or to 1/16th.

And I have to switch all the tubing set up for my chamber to the

ozonator. This may sound like a bad reason to spend more $ but I

have found that in life, small stresses can be bigger stresses than

one realizes. Ease of use is important. However, that is a big

chunk of change :). Still, it would then be automatic, I could just

flip a few switches and let the sauna heat up and get in. Byron said

if I got a used 02 tank, and I am doing 1/16th or 1/2...and not a lot

(I still can't take a lot of ozone, I'm kind of like Wanda that way),

that it might last and be a good interim measure. I'm thinking of

that, as I see on ebay they are relatively reasonable.

Hope everybody's doing well. Some people on lymenet have cobbled

together their own ozone tent/sauna setups, I don't even think they

knew about oxyplus/Saul, and one family seems to be getting much

better.

Sorry. My hyperbaric chamber came with the " cadillac " of 02

concentrators, an Integra, that goes up to 10 liters a minute, which

is needed to combat the backpressure of the chamber...

But its a hassle to use it with the sauna or insufflation, because

the Integra's knob turns, and goes from 1 liter to 10 liters. It's

not meant to be so finely tuned down to 1/16th (and I can't get it

down to 1/32nd)...that gizmo you guys recommend allows me to do it

but I keep having to go back and forth, adjust, check, adjust check

etc. I tried marking the concentrator knob but it doesn't work. I

notice that these hassles stop me from doing ozone as much as I'd

like to and that seems silly, so it looks like one way or another I

have to spend a little $ at this point, which is no problem. I'm

thinking if I get a tank that might be a good idea but I have no idea

how to research where I can fill it up. So I'll figure this out next

week.

Jill,

One solution for you is an Invacare " Precise Rx Pediatric Flowmeter " which

is designed to throttle a high output oxygen concentrator down to calibrated

levels from 1/16 - 3/4 LPM flow rate. I have one that I use and it works

quite well.

Hi Dennis, this is an interesting idea.

I googled it:

http://www.invacare.com/cgi-

bin/imhqprd/inv_catalog/prod_cat_detail.jsp?s=0 & oidOfCategory=-

1610621144 & oidOfProduct=536927151 & prodID=IRCPF16

Is that it? It costs $275? Well that would be about the same as a

tank plus regulator, but easier/cheaper longterm. Will it work with

any o2 concentrator, such as my Integra? Could I then just put the

Integra flow at " 1 " and easily adjust the invacare, just once,

without having to go back and forth all the time? The one that I am

using is a passive flowmeter that does give me a measurement. But I

keep my 02 concentrator in the bedroom partly for space reasons and

also to protect it from the ozone (the compressor etc...might be some

rubber in there)

It is Product ID: IRCPF16

Your link didn't work.

It requires an input flowrate of 2 LPM.

You can download the manual and call them to ask questions.

You would set your concentrator to a no load 2 LPM just once, then you would

hook up the Invacare and adjust the flow rate on the Invacare to the desired

level.

P.S. I have both a concentrator and tank setup.

I prefer the tank.

Dennis, thanx, Your technical help has all along been a great benefit

to me.

What kind of tank do you have? IE how large? What was the cost of the

tank and regulator? I was thinking about it this morning and think

the tank is the better idea for me IF there is a place relatively

easy for me to get to, to refill the tank from time to time. I don't

know if that is indeed possible. Byron tells me many companies that

rent tanks and refill them will not fill a tank unless you are

renting...etc...so if its not easy to refill, this might be a better

idea. thx again

P.S. Yes that's the product I was looking at it seems to be $275.

I think I'll research the tank...it seems to me I'd still have to be

changing tubes and lines from chamber to sauna frequently. Any info

on tanks you have is appreciated, I found a source that seems

inexpensive but who knows!

Jill,

I have a 60 cf (1699 liter) tank which cost me $129.00.

It is a steel " welding type " tank 27 " high x 7 " diameter.

60 CF it the largest size that can be easily handled.

60 CF = 113 1/2 hr saunas.

I got a welding type tank with a CGA 540 fitting.

With a welding type tank, I felt that there would be no questions about

filling it at any welding supply shop.

I found a shop that will fill it on the spot with no waiting who by the way

has many ozone customers. Yes, I bought the tank from him.

I have Saul's regulator, ask him for the price.

Dennis,

Humidity is definitely something you don't want for ozone production --

you'll get toxic contaminants! This was told to me by a manufacturer of

equipment (not Saul).

Thanks Ninah,Dennis.I have purchased a small air dryer to install

between the oxygen supply and the ozonator to take out any humidity

that might exist.

This is a very informative group.I am doing this the poor man's

way for now but I wnat to do it right. Will upgrade when I can.

I believe you need the added pressure of a chamber to even see some results.

We are going to try it soon.

Andy has said recently that just breathing a larger concentration of Oxygen

would be similar to a chamber, especially mBOT.

It's not as good as a hard chamber, 1.5 ATA, breathing 100% oxygen, but it's a

ton cheaper.

I found a concentrator on Craigslist for $300. The cheapest chamber time I found

here in Seattle was $120 an hour.

Normal room air is about 20% oxygen, so if you are breathing 90-95% oxygen from

a concentrator that is more than 4 times the amount.

You need to be careful about oxygen toxicity due to prolonged periods breathing

close to pure oxygen.

I believe an hour session twice a day, seperated by at least 4 hours is the

maximum.

A few years ago, my son did breathing oxygen at home. It was Andy's suggestion.

We did NOT buy a concentrator but instead our dr wrote an rx that was filled by

our children's hospital. Our insurance paid for everything. The hospital

delivered and set up as well as taught us what to do. We always had 2 huge

tanks of liquid oxygen in the house, which is a bit concerning.

In spite of all the effort, my son did not benefit. We saw nothing. He also

did not benefit from 1.5 ATA HBOT.
