Part Two: What we plan on doing or not doing this year for the swine/bird flu.

Part one dealt with the basics of the conspiracy theories out there that pertain

to a global campaign for population reduction. Emails circulating the web

eliminate the conspiracy theories all together, in order to reach as many people

as possible. Some give the typical ideas for dealing with the typical flu, not

taking into account the cytokine storm information. I have also seen emails

circulating like this quote below which I think were leaving out the 1918

Spanish flu except for the words " is a close relative of an older strain " , which

means the 1918 flu without coming right out and saying it, but still telling

people what they need to know. Smart tactic.

This is one of the coolest quotes I have found out there on the web in regards

to swine/bird flu, with no author, but then I go on to disagree with over half

of the persons treatment ideas. This unauthored, unlabeled email circulating is

what made me want to tell the people who know me in real life or on the internet

what the Axe Family is doing for the Swine/Bird Flu:

" The Swine/Bird flu causes death among the strongest and most healthy

individuals by causing a cytokine storm in the person's normal immune system

to overreact and flood the lungs with fluid. The current H1N1 outbreak has

had a very low mortality rate, in large part because it doesn't trigger this

cytokine storm and also, is a close relative of an older flu strain for which

many older individuals already have partial immunity. But if this comes back in

the fall, with a deadly mutation it will cause this cytokine storm. that

produces these different receptors TNF-a, IL-6, IL-1, IL-8, neuraminidase, &

others. The first part of the below protocol will prevent you from getting the

swine/bird flu. The second part will inhibit the above

receptors that swine/ bird flu need to cause a cytokine storm in the body. If

you do get the cytokine storm the Curcumin from the healthfood store combined

with the

BioperineR will stop the deadly cytokine storm. "

Our strategy for this years flu

Because this years flu could go into a cough in the lungs that can go into

pneumonia, and during the pneumonia within days fluid can fill the lungs and

cause what is known as a cytokine storm, and this same type of strain was the

deadly strain from 1918 which wiped out hundreds of thousands of people in their

prime, I will not use immune system boosters. The cytokine storm is an

autoimmune condition it is the immune system going haywire with overactivity.

Immune system boosters will increase the fluid filling the lungs from what I

understand. I will check the label of anything I am considering and makes sure

it does not boost the immune system. I will also not vaccinate, not take

tamiflu, and avoid chemical exposures, all three of these will significantly

give power to the deadly flu strain. In so much that if people don't vaccinate,

and avoid chemicals, and are like us, with weakened immune systems, we basically

have nothing to worry about. We should be fine. It's all my strong healthy

relatives and friends with strong immune systems I am worried about, and that is

partially who this is written for. The other people this is written for are

those interested in alternative medicine and what our family with uveitis, and

lyme disease plans on doing for this years flu to treat it at home.

For the past three years, our daughter's autoimmune disease has motivated me to

find for her remedies for when she gets the flu that will not stimulate her

immune system. This year, I am going to treat everyone in the family without

boosting the immune system. It requires a change of strategy from what we

normally do, which is Echinachea for colds and flu's. Well, I can't do

echinachea if I am trying to fight flu while trying not to boost the immune

system. If I was not a conspiracy theorist, then I could load up on elderberry

and down caps of Echinachea, and take natural antibiotics after all it is just a

silly flu, what is the big deal? Or worse yet, I could get all my vaccinations

and use plenty of chemicals in and around my home as a lot of those dear to me

do. I believe the conspiracies. I closely scrutinize the mainstream media and

most mainstream doctors medical information. No matter how many scare tactics

they plan on using, dead bodies and fearmongering they spread through the news,

I will not be swayed in my resolve to avoid their billion dollar money making

genocidal scheme, also known as, the flu shot. My motivation: I plan on

surviving a little longer by being a little smarter to perhaps lead one more

person to

Christ.

What I will do to prevent the

flu this year:

Hand Washing religiously, teach children hand washing

Avoid touching my face, teach children to avoid touching their face

Sewing homemade facemasks

The chicken soup cure, Grandma style.

Weston A Price 24 hour chicken bone broth. It is the most potent chicken broth

in the world, it is medicinal, it far surpasses what you can buy in the store

out of a can in quality and effectiveness. This alone can be a stand alone

curative. I have what I normally use in the family for cooking, plus I stockpile

chicken broth in my freezer and during the flu we drink it straight, seasoned

with salt and pepper. I do not have to cook while I have the flu, and everyone

usually gets it, and this is the liquid diet that we have prepared ahead of

time. Recently I read about traditional foodists who prepare their broth quicker

in a stainless steel pressure cooker. That is on my wishlist because I can't

keep up with our broth use. For conditions such as lyme disease, families are

serving one cup of bone broth to each family member per day in the regular diet,

but during times of flu, a family may be getting all of their nutrition from

broth. This eliminates the need for products like gatorade which are full of

high fructose corn syrup. I try to avoid those products. I try to get my family

to avoid those products unless there is no other option.

24 hour bone broth:

Take large crockpot, put in organic chicken bones and scraps leftover after a

chicken dinner, 2 carrots, 2 sticks of celery, one onion cut up, 1 small piece

of Nori seaweed, and 1 tablespoon of apple cider vinegar. The vinegar is

important because it draws the nutrients from the bones and infuses it into the

broth. Fill the crockpot to the top with purified water. Cook 24 hours on low,

let cool,strain out the veggies and chicken bones, put remaining broth into

containers, label and freeze. For the quick method, put the ingredients in a

stainless steel pressure cooker for an hour and a half, cool, strain,

containers, label, freeze.

Cod liver oil, a staple that our entire family takes daily.

Vitamin C is the Greatest Vitamin of All

Vitamin C: 1000 mg taken with each meal 3 times a day.

and increased slowly to 2000-4000 mg per meal. Our optimal dose is just below

the point where our body complains by giving us mild diarrhea.

This is called the " bowel tolerance dose. " We sometimes take

vitamin C with food that will coat our stomach to prevent stomach upset. Or we

take one ounce noni or aloe vera juice just prior to dosing vitamin C if we have

stomach upset. People with uveitis need to be aware that lower doses of vitamin

C, under 1000 mg a day in divided doses in studies shows that Vitamin C

increases blood flow to the eye, when combined with selenium and vitamin E.

Whether or not a person wants increased blood flow can depend on the specific

situations going on in their eye at the time. For us, we strategically used

vitamin C, selenium and vitamin E to increase blood flow to break up adhesions.

High dose vitamin C has been associated with flares in uveitis although I am

leery of mainstream medicals slant and research against C, a person should know

it is considered controversial. So if I had uveitis, I would strategically USE

high doses during flares, when there is no danger of it causing flares when in

one. I suggest each person do their own research on vitamin C and find out what

level they are comfortable with. The highest levels I have heard of were ramped

up to slowly and exceeded 100 grams a day, and that was for people with very

serious illnesses like aids and cancer. The beautiful thing is the body knows

how much C a person needs, and I believe if you can ramp up, you should ramp up

as high as you can to just below bowel tolerance. If you are interested in

The highlight through the thread was the education posted by my dear friend MT,

who tirelessly posted to educate people online through this 21 page thread. The

information is in the archives, from three years ago. One of the most powerful

stories was the history of Sister Kenny curing Polio with vitamin C and how that

information was supressed.

Bottom line, We go into a mom and pop healthfood store and special order the

$100 container of Now brand Sodium Ascorbate. It lasts our family of seven

approx one year. We use the 00/000 Cap.M.Quik /accessory tamper with the " 00 "

size Capsule filler and " 00 " size gel or veggie caps. I estimate by capping the

C myself, I save hundreds of dollars a year versus buying the C in ready made

bottles. We take the vitamin C to bowel tolerance and might double our regular

dose of C during the flu.

Vitamin D, those of us who are concerned about flu have already been taking it

this fall, it can prevent you from even getting the flu. Vitamin D is complex,

here are the basics:

Vitamin D : The latest research shows that it takes vitamin D from the sun 48

hours to absorb into the skin after exposure, if you bathe before that time

frame, it washes off before absorbing and is of no effect for raising your blood

levels of vitamin D. For most people I know they will not keep the vitamin D

from sun exposure due to frequent bathing. This is from

name of the best tanning bed to use. If I could, we would be all going to use

the tanning bed, see alternative medicine can be fun, and teenagers love this! I

would encourage children to play out in the sun and bathe only weekly if I was

trying to raise vitamin D levels. Most children will love this! There is a way

of testing vitamin D blood levels, a blood test, called a 25-hydroxy-vitamin D.

Mercola says 5,000 IU's for adults and quadruple the dose if your vitamin D

tests low, dose for two weeks then retest vitamin D levels. That test should be

conducted in the late winter, when your levels are the lowest, and at the

beginning of fall, when your levels are the highest. Knapp is an

important name in history for those with uveitis. If I could go to the KC

Medical library some day I need to spend a day finding and copying his research.

When I was in Arizona at the Lyme induced Autism conference I was able to read

his research briefly, but that was enough to have me convinced that needed

to be on vitamin D, I think it was circa 1920-1950. See the information is out

there, the research has been done! Knapp was an opthomologist who

studied Uveitis, then known as iritis, and his lifes work produced research on

vitamin D and eye disease. In 's case, for someone with uveitis, his daily

dose of vitamin D was 50,000 IU. That far exceeds Mercolas dosage. I will take

vitamin D for a short time, and muscle test to see if I continue to need more.

You will hear doses bantered about during flu season of 1,000 IU's as a

dose....pssh. I don't know on dosage for you, I can only say on dosage for me.

I'm going with Knapp. And I found a company who sells high dose

vitamin D, and after Mercola's speech at the LIA conference, within five minutes

the Biotech booth was completely out. Which was good, cause it gave me and the

rep some valuable alone face time. I talked to him for an hour at least.

Biotech, has several different choices of dosages. Some of us can't handle

taking 50,000 IU, and we need to ramp up slowly. The normal dose may be 5,000

IU, but the theraputic dose to take while a person has a medical condition or is

sick, seems to be much higher. The Vitamin D has no taste and can be taken from

the cap and mixed in food or drink, it is a white powder. I divide the high dose

cap into a lower dose for my people. Some of us take 50,000 IU's a day which is

way higher of a dose than what is mainstream. Dr. Tenpenny says blood levels of

vitamin d should be above 60ng/ml Mercola recommends monitoring blood levels of

vitamin D and even sells a vitamin D enhancing tanning bed that fits upright

behind a door

vitamin D.

Probiotics

We all take probiotics from custom probiotics, and we use their D-lactate free

version because of senstivities. We went through four different probiotic brands

before we found one we could tolerate. One thing I learned is that if one brand

of vitamin or supplement makes us sick, don't give up. The supplement might make

you sick because of an additive or sensitivity, so we try to dose things alone,

with as few additives as possible, and even then sometimes we need help from

other people who are into alternative medicine to figure out why someone is not

tolerating a supplement. So we keep asking questions. Sometimes the answer can

end up being a big clue. It is generally a good idea to find a probiotic that I

tolerate BEFORE I get the flu rather than during. I don't want to be trying a

bunch of new things right when I am sick.

Thieves oil

We will take a few drops of theives oil and place it in a mask that we wear,

this will prevent us from getting the flu. See my theives oil recipe. I want to

make theives oil soap or toothpaste and use it in cleaning products.

From the health food store I got all the bottles of these essential oils (I use

the NOW brand), then I took a dropper and a bunch of empty dropper bottles and

there is enough to make this for everyone you know plus years supply:

Theives oil

200 drops clove bud oil

175 drops lemon oil

100 drops cinnamon oil

75 drops Eucalyptus oil

50 drops Rosemary oil

Kills germs such as flu, infection, MRSA, Black Plague, mold.

10 drops diffuser, 3 drops mask, 4 drops toothpaste mixture.

10 drops in a spray bottle got the moldy musty smell out of our tent like a

miracle. We sprayed the tent all over inside and out with it.

Be careful to keep the clove oil from direct contact with cats, I am fine making

it and using it, it is just that if you accidentally spilt the clove oil around

your cat it could make it sick. My cats are fine with me diffusing theives, I am

just careful when mixing to make sure they aren't in the room.

I used this near a moldy window in my kitchen and it killed all of the mold

spores and they did not return after one hour with the diffuser. I got the

diffuser at the health food store:)

STAY HOME IF YOU ARE SICK

We avoid people who are sick, and around now avoid people who might have had the

flumist, which has the live virus in it. People with autoimmune or immune system

diseases should avoid people who have had the flumist for 21 days after they

recieve their vaccination. Periodically we remind those we are around, like our

family or homeschool group that we have family members with autoimmune

conditions who are on immunosuppressants who need to avoid people who are sick.

Especially when on Curcumin, which is a natural immunosuppressor. That is why

they say that Curcumin shouldn't be taken for long periods of time for those

with lyme, because it can inhibit the bodies ability to fight off infection. The

curcumin would only be used by me strategically during flu to prevent cytokine

storm at the first sign of lung involvement. Our daughter with uveitis was on

curcumin for three years daily to control her eye inflammation.

We avoid stress and rest during the flu. We stay at home so that we do not

spread the flu to other people. Our general family rule for contagious vomiting

with flu is that the person must wait 24 hours after feeling better to go out in

public or wear a mask to protect others. We let chores slide and do schoolwork

that can be done through the television or that is restful such as reading, the

only cooking we do is to take the bone broth out of the freezer. We drink lots

of fluids, such as purified water and teas, and while we might not avoid sugar,

it is our goal to avoid drinks containing high fructose corn syrup and buy

alternatives.

We eat a non gmo,(no genetically modified) traditional foods diet throughout the

year to provide our bodies with plenty of nutrients. It follows the old adage,

by Claude Bernard (1813-1878): " The microbe is nothing, the terrain is

everything. " Pasteur, proponent of the germ theory, recanted his theory on his

deathbed and quoted Bernard and said " The microbe is nothing, the terrain is

everything " . That, is a powerful story. The whole western medical system is

built on Pasteur's germ theory and Pasteur himself said it was complete rubbish

in his deathbed confessional. We improve the terrain, through nutrients,

probiotics, cod liver oil,detoxification, and diet. Everything we do or don't do

all year long is to improve our terrain. We are not afraid when the germ comes,

they will be nothing, as Bernard said, if we have been successful improving our

bodies terrain.

I plan on checking into apple cider vinegar daily as a preventative of flu

If we Come Down With The Flu :

We will take a few drops of theives oil and place it in a diffuser to kill

bacteria and virus in the house. We might put a few drops in the humidifier in

the sick persons room. The rest of us could wear our masks.

We have occillococcinum on hand, a homeopathic flu remedy, it is purchased prior

to the flu and kept in stock so that it can be taken at the first sign of flu

symptoms. Homeopathic remedies are taken away from food. I also heard that

arsenicum album was a great homeopathic for this years flu. Another way I use

occillococcinum is preventative. If someone in the family gets exposed to flu,

or if it is a bad flu season, we will take it before we get the flu. We only

take three tiny pellets three times a day. We do not take a whole capful like

the instructions say. During the flu, the dosage can be three pellets up to

every hour, or even every fifteen minutes during the acute stages.

We have Enzymedica's Virastop on hand, it is taken two hours away from food,

drinks other than water, and other supplements (2 hours before and after on

either side), easy during flu.

You know this is actually something new that I heard of that I don't know

whether or not I would do, the curcumin/pepper combination. They say at first

sign of lung involvement:

BioperineR : A 20 mg dose of BioperineR can increase curcumin's

bioavailability twentyfold . Take 30 min before the Turmeric 95% CURCUMIN.*Holy

cow if common table pepper increases curcumin's bioavailability twenty fold like

this says, it will be revolutionary for the uveitis community, since that is

their front line anti inflammatory/immunosuppressor in the alternative medicine

world. This is a seemingly wonderful tip I got on the web that I am considering

trying this year. The only thing is, would I really want to suppress the immune

system plus boost that 20 times over during a bacterial infection? Well they say

curcumin reduces cytokines. They say it is a antibacterial. I want to see

studies. I want to hear other people with flu's this year that go into coughs

use this and get back to me on how it works for them. I think I would use

curcumin because I am comfortable with that, but curcumin is very powerful,

upping the bioavailability of it 20 times might reduce the immune system to

nothing, fixing the cytokine storm and making the person succeptable to another

infection. I'd like to discuss this more with people, and if any of you go to

your integrated medicine practitioner, please ask them about this and get back

to me. Curcumin alone, puts uveitis eye inflammation into remission and removes

the joint pain from arthritis, I can't imagine that it even needs to be boosted.

If this is not the best remedy, then what would be the best natural remedy

during the cytokine storm lung involvement is what I want to know.

They say:

Turmeric 95% CURCUMIN: 900mg: to stop a " cytokine storm " immune system

overreaction if you become infected. Take 4 900mg tabs a day. If this true, lets

all ask our integrated medical doctors (ones who work with alternative and

conventional medicine) and verify that this would be the best plan. They say

that Curcumin + vitamin D work synergistically to reduce cytokine storm. Other

nutrients that are said to reduce cytokine storm are potassium and vitamin C.

Green Tea :(possible Tamiflu/Relenza alternative) - Very effective

antiviral. Also decreases the production of the cytokine (catechins) TNF-a.

Inhibits neuraminidase. May have antiviral activity that is equal to other

antivirals such as Tamiflu. We avoid Tamiflu. I have stocked up on Green Tea.

Sweetened with sugar over honey because of the cytokine enhancement of honey.

Resveratrol : In addition to inhibiting neuraminidase, resveratrol also

sends a message to cells to stop manufacturing viruses. W00t W00t well, some of

us are already on this daily and I would not stop this during the flu.

Cat's Claw (Enzymatic Therapy Saventaro):- Guaranteed to benefit both the

natural and

acquired immune systems Decreases the production of the cytokine TNF-a. Also

boosts immune system. The number of white blood cells was significantly

increased during treatment. No toxicity was noted.

Cat's Claw is usually not recommended for those with autoimmune conditions.

Always is the question of whether something is an immune stimulant vs. an immune

modulator. Plus, I have used the cheapest toa non potent cat's claw imaginable

and it worked just as well as the fancy schmancy no TOA stuff. Cat's Claw is a

good anti-inflammatory for its inhibition of TNF-a and prostaglandin E2

production. But it seems to have immune stimulant properties as well, for the

fact that it is proven to raise CD-57 and white blood cells counts. However, per

Buhner, it is more of an immune modulator and less of an immune stimulant. " It

modulates the immune system, raising it where appropriate and lowering

overactive responses where necessary. " I would use muscle testing to determine

if the situation warranted using Cat's Claw.

We will calm the over active immune system by treating allergies:

We have found that if and when we have a situation where the immune system is

overactive, anything we can do to calm the overactive immune system is going to

help the situation. Other parents and myself found that children who had their

food and inhalant allergies treated if they had any, responded much better to

treatment for their autoimmune diseases. So, we were doing everything we could

to calm the overactive immune system, be it allergy shots, or homeopathic

allergy drops, avoiding allergic foods,IGG food allergy testing, quercetin; an

herb that stops allergic reactions, air purifiers in the bedroom, etc. The idea

was no stress, and to calm the immune system down. Calming the immune system is

a strategy that has worked for many people with inflammation caused by over

immunity. This strategy would work the same and I use it for those of us with

the flu that goes into an overactive autoimmunity. So, air purifier in the room,

allergy drops, and quercetin.

Hydrogen Peroxide

Hydrogen Peroxide (H202) (3% solution food grade), They say that a Nebulizer can

be used with this remedy

Mix H202-2 parts to 1 part distilled water. Nebulize into lungs by breathing

mist deeply and

through mouth 3-6 times daily according to symptoms. We don't have a nebulizer

so we haven't tried this.

We have tried the following with remarkable results in

curing the flu and cold within 12 to 14 hours by administering a few drops

of 3% hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) into each infected ear, (sometimes only one ear

is infected). The H2O2 starts working within 2 to 3 minutes in killing the flu

or cold; there will be some bubbling and in some cases mild stinging occurs.

Wait until the bubbling and stinging subside (usually just a few minutes), then

drain the excess fluid onto a tissue and repeat the process in the other ear. It

is easiest to lie on your side in bed while using this method, and a Q-tip or

cotton ball work well to administer the H2O2. I use a dropper bottle filled with

hydrogen peroxide and apply three drops in each ear, one ear at a time. It is

best to use 35% food grade Hydrogen peroxide diluted to a 3% solution. mix 1

ounce 35% food grade peroxide to 11 ounces of distilled water in a pint jar

,shake. We now have a 3% peroxide. After we do this and all of the perxoide is

drained from both ears, we put Wally's ear oil in each ear. 24 hours after this

if the person is feeling up to it, we do ear candles. After the ear candles we

put nutrobiotic ear oil with grapefruitseed extract in each ear.

Currently I am thinking through the scenario of what we would do as natural

remedies for pneumonia. Since no one in my family has ever had pneumonia, I will

be talking to the kids grandparents and asking them what they did for it, and

what it looked like. In this case I am preparing for what I am planning on using

for something we have never experienced They say the 1918 flu also came with

strep, so I want my bases covered there too. I am thinking of lomatium for lung

when I googled it I found that the indians used it during the 1918 flu. Vitacost

has it for under seven dollars.

The following substances we will avoid or not take for the swine/bird flu:

The seasonal flu shot and swine flu shot or any other vaccine.

Western medicine antivirals such as tamiflu, or any acid blockers.

Hot under the Collar-My words that I give my family on fevers.

Fever reducers such as aspirin, tylenol, aleve, etc we avoid. The people who

died in the 1918 flu pandemic from cytokine storm didn't realize that when they

took asprin, they were reducing the fever that was fighting the bacterial

infection, taking away the bodies defenses, then within two days after taking

aspirin they would present with secondary bacterial pnuemonia and that is how

they died, from fluid in the lungs from cytokine storm. So, if we learned

anything from that it would be that FEVER IS OUR FRIEND. We do not take fever

reducers at the first sign of fevers. We do not take pain relievers when we have

the flu. The pain relievers reduce the fever and the fever is what is killing

off the bad bugs. We manage fevers with cool cloths on the forehead and tepid

baths. From years of experience I have perfected the art of keeping the fever at

just the right level to kill the bugs but not get too high. I personally feel

that 102 is the highest fever I am comfortable with. I have successfully managed

fevers for 18 years with this method with a family of seven. I also believe that

if you get a fever down by a cool cloth and a tepid bath it will not go into a

febrile seizure. I have almost never in almost 20 years had a fever not go down

by the cool cloth/tepid bath method. If I see a fever go over what I am

comfortable with, I take action to break it fast, and the bath works 99% of the

time. Because of my many years of experience seeing fevers always break in our

family from this method, I think if I ever saw a fever that did not respond to a

cool cloth/tepid bath, I recently read that three whole peppercorns swallowed

whole will break a fever. If the peppercorns didn't work at that time, I would

call a naturopath. If the person is delirious, the fever is too high,I break it.

There is no need to let a fever stay that high. This is kind of precarious to

take this sick person and set them gently in a tub of water. I usually have my

husband do it. He stays right there, and it usually only takes a minute or two

in the tub. I would stand at the ready with towels and pajamas to not let them

catch a chill out of the bath. Generally after that they would sometimes get the

chills and need to be put under warm blankets, because the chills are their own

bodies way of reducing the fever also, they only need the tub for a short time

until the fever breaks and then I want to keep them warm during the chills with

blankets.

They say Elderberry juice (Sambucal) - AVOID - Increases production of cytokines

TNF-a and IL-6. This substance is very effective against the common flu but

may not be desirable for the H5N1 virus. Increases in these cytokines may

trigger a lethal cytokine storm. I locked my Elderberry and Echinachea and

immune system boosters up, so a teenager would not self treat since that is the

usual things I have taught them to take.

Micro Algae (Chlorella and Spirulina) - AVOID - Increases productionof

cytokine TNF-a.

Honey - AVOID - Increases production of cytokines TNF-a and IL-6.

Chocolate - AVOID - Increases production of cytokines TNF-a and IL-6.

Echinacea - AVOID - Increases production of cytokines TNF-a and

IL-6.Although it is often used for normal flu, research shows that it may

increase the chance of cytokine storms for H5N1.

Kimchi - AVOID - Increases production of cytokines TNF-a and IL-6.

calcium and magnesium-AVOID increased the activity of neuraminidases.

Some people say to avoid Dairy products & Bananas because these foods increase

mucous production.*of course we drink a lot of Dairy in our traditional foods

diet, if we get mucous, we would take enzymedica's mucostop. During the flu, we

mostly do avoid other foods and stick to the bone broth which is all my family

usually wants to consume during a time of flu anyway. It is very important to me

to always make sure there is plenty of extra broth in the freezer. There is

nothing worse than having to wait 24 hours for your bone broth to be made during

the flu, so I try never to run out.

Avoid things that increase autoimmunity, namely flouride!

We avoid fluoride in water because it has been linked to autoimmunity. We do not

drink straight water out of the tap and if I had the means I would avoid

fluoridated and chlorinated water out of the bath also. Only a Reverse Osmosis

system can remove fluoride. Be careful that many bottled waters are now being

supplemented with fluoride. We avoid those bottled waters supplemented with

fluoride and do not take fluoride treatments at the dentist. We don't use

flouridated toothpaste.

Even more remedies we won't be doing for the swine/bird flu

Why we don't use colloidal silver no matter how tempting it is:

Many people believe that Colloidal Silver will help kill the flu dead in it's

tracks. We do not use this. We just visited Cowtown http://www.oldcowtown.org/

in Wichita, Kansas which is a restored town from the 1870's and in the pharmacy,

people one hundred and thirty years ago were taking " lead " and " mercury " as a

remedy for illness. People took magnets and metals for cures. I have before I

was educated on this, used silva solution. It worked! It worked great! But just

because something works, doesn't mean we should use it! Our family is mercury

and lead toxic and taking chelators for heavy metals. We believe it could be

counterproductive to add silver when we are already so overloaded with heavy

metals and we believe it conflicts with treatment we are already doing. I got

this information on avoiding metals from reading the works of Andy Cutler and in

personal correspondence back and forth on this topic.

Skullcap is something that people are recommending but we wouldn't take it. It

can be hard on the liver. We are already on lyme remedies that are hard on the

liver. We already take milk thistle to support the liver, and we already have

all our liver can take just killing off lyme and dealing with flu. During the

flu I would slow down on herbs that created a dieoff to give the body the

abililty to deal with killing the flu. Most people can't keep down many

supplements anyway, which is why the broth works so well. The only natural

tranquilzer type herb we have ever used is chammomile which we do have on hand

so I when I read about another one such as this, sometimes I try to reach for a

close equivalent that is in my stockpile.

Scuttellaria (Skullcap):Antiviral. They are using it as an antiviral. I would

use Virastop instead.

I don't know whether or not we would take Vitamin E, I would probably not, my

kids won't take vitamin E during the flu : They say it is an Immune booster.

Also decreases the production of the cytokine

TNF-a. Very suitable for immune compromised people, especially the elderly.

Effects enhanced when taken with Vitamin C. One thing that perplexes me about

all of these supplements is that in my family we usually can't stomach a lot of

supplements during the flu, unless this was for when the flu was over and had

gone into a cough.

I disagree with taking Zinc. Many people believe Zinc (L-OptiZinc 30 mg of

Zinc): , a zinc-methionine complex ,Zinc has

been shown to have direct activity against a range of viruses. Zinc is a

mild to moderate inhibitor of neuraminidase. Zinc ions have been shown to

have a slight inhibitory action on all strains of neuraminidase tested Zinc

reduces TNF, IL-1 and IL-8 production Zinc can also turn down TNF, ICAM and

other cytokines involved in over reaction to H5N1 and other viruses. *I know

that zinc is not recommended for people with autoimmune diseases, actually the

reason zinc is not recommended for autoimmune diseases is because zinc revs up

the immune system. This is exactly what we DON'T want during a potential

cytokine storm. So, I would not take zinc at all during this flu season. This

year since cytokine storm is the big issue, I would avoid ALL IMMUNE SYSTEM

BOOSTERS.Their reasoning for zinc is its antiviral properties, and I mean, if I

need an antiviral, I would take Enzymedica's Virastop, a proteolytic enzyme that

is very effective as an antiviral but does not boost the immune system. The high

dose virastop protocol is my first line antiviral plan.

My hope is that this helps undo some of the confusion and shows what our

families direction is. My next direction is more research on pneumonia and how

we plan to treat it during the early signs if anyone gets a flu that goes into a

cough.
