Guest guest
, I've never had problems with a sore tongue that I can remember, but the white coating is caused by candida. A practitioner of Chinese Medicine can confirm that for sure...they use the tongue to help diagnose their patients. Guest guest
Hi, I have had problems with this. I was told it was geographic tongue. I would have weird looking white patches on my tongue and it would hurt me when I ate. Especially acidic foods like tomatoes or vinegar. I can't really tell you how to get rid of it. Mine went away on it's own and I don't know why. I've had it 2-3 times. I now just have a white coating on my tongue from the candida but it doesn't hurt. Good luck. Sore as in raw? It still could be thrush. A sore tongue is one sign of a B12 deficiency. CALL YOUR DOCTOR! Don't suffer in silence! Guest guest
I love you guys descriptions of the taste in your mouths. Last time I had a metallic taste which started around 3 weeks into the treatment. So far it is not there but I have only been on treatment 2 weeks. I never got blisters just a sore mouth. Gee my Mom's cure all for canker sores was Caroid and Bile Salts (laxative)....lol...and of course what people call Jewish Penicillin, Chicken Soup filled with fresh onions and garlic...yuckkkk, imagine being a kid and told to eat that. .. I also have a > > SALT taste inn my mouth alot...UGH! Guest guest
I never had that problem, so I don't know what to tell you, it could be something entirely separate from the hep or it's treatment, but not necessarily, it (the tx) affects us all differently, and there are many symptoms that doctors swear are not related to the treatment, we have found many of us suffered with. Too much to be a coincidence. Good luck and I hope it clears up for you quickly. -dz- At 04:10 PM 12/18/2004, you wrote: Hi, I'm in my 9th week of treatment. For about the past month I have had a really red, swollen, and ulcers on my tongue. I have never in my life had this kind of problem, so I'm thinking it's the treatment. I've showed this to my dr. and he seems confused. He gave me medicine for Thrush. Which did not do any good. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what this is and how to get rid of it? Guest guest
I have forwarded this message from Sue to me on to the forum in case somebody can help her. The one thing that comes to my mind is Lichen Planus but I know there are other conditions that could be causing this. What does your tongue look like. Not sure whether this is a sign of B12 deficiency - not even sure where I got that one from. Many thanks Luv - Sheila Hi Sheila Just wondering if you or anyone could shed any light on my chronic sore tongue condition. Negative for candida, bloods show low white cells, nothing spectacular. It is not just sore patches, also a woolly 'blotting paper' type feeling, and I'm fed up with it! Certain things really sting, ie alcohol, which is a real pain! My dentist referred me to the Dental Hospital, but no-one seems to know what it is. I am thinking some sort of deficiency, although I have a varied and fairly healthy diet. Note to Santa - I would like a new tongue for Christmas! Luv Sue No virus found in this incoming message. Guest guest
My son is complaining about a sore tongue. I am wondering if a sore tongue can be yeast related? When I look at his tongue there is a large area that is a slightly brighter red than the rest of his tongue... so there is something visibly going on. Any thoughts? Any thoughts how to relieve his discomfort. ...Popsicles?
Guest guest
Possibly yeast, but I have found this happens when the kids eat certain things that create tiny cuts or irritation on the tongue, like lollipops or chips, or popsicles. Is he willing to gargle with warm salt water...this would alleviate the discomfort until the skin heals up. Yeast usually makes the tongue white. > > My son is complaining about a sore tongue. Guest guest
If red or has white patches, he probably has thrush which is yeast.
