The same thing happens to me. In my case I have a VERY sensitive digestive

system. The first thing I found out was that a lot of probiotics have trace

amounts of casein in them. In some cases they didn't even list it on the

bottle. Make sure you are taking one that is certified casein free. If you

have other allergies, you may want to consider that first.

Even after that I had to go to a really low probiotic dose every other day

in the beginning, then every day, and gradually upped the dose. I still take

a break from it from time to time.

I think it actually is a sign that it's doing what it's supposed to do. In

other words, my gut balance was so " off " for so long that this was a real

disruption to the way things had been. For me, things got better with time.

Hopefully they will for you too!

Best,

Kim

Human beings are not born once and for all on the day their mothers give

birth to them, but rather life obliges them over and over again to give

birth to themselves.

Which probiotics? For example, many people have trouble with probiotics that

contain milk and/or strep strains.

Custom probiotics (without the lactobacillus, custom for autism) made my

daughter much worse.? They sure are powerful though and make great fermented

foods, just not for her!? And very expensive.

Thats interesting - I just started giving my son the CP-1 from custom probiotics

which has L. acidophilus, L. plantarum, L. rhamnosus, B. lactis and B. bifidum.

I called and he said it was casein free as well as dairy free as it only lists

" dairy free " on the bottle, but I'm not so sure as I'm seeing some tantrums

today...The reason I didnt give him the D-lactate free one is that he NAET

tested better for the CP1. We usually give Therbiotic complete from klaire but

he's been on that for 6 months and thought I should shake it up a little

especially as yeast is an issue.
