Why is zinc so important during chelation?

Does anyone know the answer to this? My daughter is tolerating chelation pretty

well - we are on our 3rd round this weekend - but giving her additional zinc

seems to make her extra irritable. I am using zinc piccolinate. She gets about

25mg of zinc in a multi-vit/min supplement she has been taking for over a year

without problems, but when I add in the zinc p., she gets really edgy.

Also, doesn't extra zinc throw the zinc/copper balance off?

Thanks for any input you might have.
