Guest guest
I took my son after I followed the DAN protocol for vitamins and Andy Cutler for chelation. They wondered why I was there but still took my $1500 non-refundable by most insurance. Well, I was after their Amino Acid blend, because without seeing their staff you could not get it~and I wanted to try it. Nowadays, you can call their pharmacy and order it without seeing their doc. They also papoosed my kid without me giving the AOK, my husband thought I had requested it so he let them do this to my son. The testing that they do is sent to LabCorp for analysis. Well, with the Medi-Cal that your child is eligible for, you can take the child to Lab Corp, order the same tests and get them done for free. Then, take the results to your DAN or other local doctor that you use. I was told they would do nothing special, and they didn't, and that they collect data for some reason, and they do. I've even spoken to their head guy, Dr. Welsh, a couple times at conferences. I do believe the Amino Acids in the propotions they suggest are good. But, all that data is on the web. They do these "outpatient" clinics, and all they do is take blood. You wait a long time, they up the price and try to sell you more. If your rich, cool. If your not, don't bother unless your a heard head like me and will give up $3000 (just in case they have some data that I don't have yet). By the way, my son went from 100 mercury poisioned (Autistic) to ~80% normal. I would go the DAN doctor route especially if your new at this. At 3 your daughter has a good chance of recovery, but you need to act fast. If I were just starting out today, I would read the www.generationrescue.com website top to bottom giving myself a weeks time to do it, and then do what it says there. They know their stuff and I've looked over their site many times and can't find any fault with it with is rare for me! Debbie G. Guest guest
Hey, I got this from someone a while back, don't know if it's still accurate for the current " amino acid MT promotor " stuff (I thought about going in with a friend to make it through compounding pharmacy for our girls to save on cost, this was before it was open to public without appointment): Here are the promoter 1 ingredients ( with NAC) N-Acetyl-Cysteine 67.4 mg > Serene 27.4 mg > Lysine 35.7 mg > Alanine 16.8 mg > Glycine 11.6 mg > Threonine 8.6 mg > Proline 7.0 mg > Aspartic Acid 8.5 mg > Asparagine 5.5 mg > Glutamic Acid 12.0 mg > Methionine 6.3 mg > Glutamine 4.4 mg > Isoleucine 4.0 mg > Valine 2.2 mcg > Selenium 10 mcg > Glutathione 150mg This is the amount per capsule Promoter 2 ( without NAC) glutathione: 200.0 mg selenium : 20.0mcg serine : 27.4 mg lysine: 35.7 mg alanine : 16.8 mg glycine : 11.6 mg threonine: 8.6 mg Proline 7.0 mg aspartic acid 8.5 mg asparagine: 5.5 mg glutamic Acid: 12.0 mg methionine: 6.3 mg glutamine: 4.4 mg isoleucine: 4.0 mg Valine : 2.2 mg this is the amount per capsule.... Guest guest
We wasted three years of my daughter's life waiting for the MT promoter to work... and she just wouldn't excrete any metals. We left Pfeiffer when Dr. Anju Usman did...and followed her to her new practice. We're chelating and getting results now... Guest guest
We have been with Pfeiffer for 3 years. Insurance covered a portion of it the first year, nothing last year, and nothing this year, but I'm planning on fighting the last denial. Pfeiffer has somebody who will give advice on how to get insurance to possibly cover charges. We also have had a positive experience with Pfeiffer. I think the best thing is we're not just blindly giving a bunch of supps. His program is based on blood, hair, and urine lab results. I also like that the supps are compounded, meaning less pills overall. The MT promotor is their answer to chelation. It is a slower and more gentle form of chelation using a combination of amino acids. I've had good luck using Pfeiffer in combination with a DAN doc. Guest guest
This is simply my experience with them. I took my son to one of their satellite offices in Oakdale, MN and I was disappointed. One, they do not believe in chelators such as DMSA, DMPS. They only advocate natural ways to chelate metals. I found it extremely tough to develop a relationship with the doctor since they see you once and then a nurse is the main person of contact from then on.  You will not be able to contact the doctor personally. Secondly, while I was finding all of this out, I wasted time and that was time I can not get back. Thirdly, I have issues with any one organization which only recommends their own pharmacy for compounding.  Again, this was only my experience. May ________________________________ From: <jkryan34@...> Sent: Sunday, August 9, 2009 11:09:38 PM Subject: Re: [ ] Re: pfeiffer institute  May I ask why you no longer suggest them??? > > > > Has anyone gone to the pfeiffer institute? > > > > :0) > > > > > > www.blog.warriormam a.com <http://www.blog. warriormama. com/> > > special kids with special needs deserve a Warrior Mama! > > > > > >
Guest guest
I know a family that went. Made them repeat the hair test which was not that old and recommended some things which the family tried but didn't find particularly helpful. Quite expensive. Guest guest
Hi I was warned off pfieffer docs or doc (as I believe that there is only one in my locality) some time ago by a few parents and a doc who said that they run a lot of tests on kids and then recommend a whole batch of the same supps to everyone which must be bought from them, regardless of the individual test results, but this is only what I was told I've never actually used them. Guest guest
I've heard similar. I've always been a little leery of the institute, mostly because it did appear they just focused on one thing (they were just the zinc/copper balance place). I never looked in to it myself. Never got a warning not to go, but never a recommendation either. We live in the area. Maybe it had something to do with the fact Dr. Usman was our DAN! doctor at the time? She used to be affiliated with Pfeiffer for those who do not know that (until 2003). I think most of what we do for our kids can be done without expensive Institutes and centers. I do know the comfort of having a large group working with you... but in the end Mom/Dad are usually the best eyes, ears, researchers and advocates. Plus, you will save a ton of dough. Good luck with your search!
