Guest guest
Hi there, My son is 10 and dxd with PDD-NOS- I started him in Acetyl-L-Carnitine and R-Alpha-Lipoic Acid about 6 months ago... It made a huge difference at the time ! We also noticed that his improvement is marked right after antibiotics and we're trying to get his GP to work with us on an antibiotic trial to see if it works (we are in Australia for sometime due to my husband's work). Anyway, He is only taking ALC and rALA, vitC and Ubiquinol (and a very low dose of Melatonin to sleep) at this point... but I am not seeing the same results I was 6 months ago... He's again saying he feels really tired when doing any school work (physical exhaustion), irritable again (not as much, but was so much better), back having headaches and feeling car sick, even during short rides... It is true that even though he is not on any special diets, all the controlled stuff (chocolate, sugar, in general) has not been under control for a couple of weeks now because of the holidays... Anyone has a clue as to what I should supplement him with to go back to seeing as great results as I saw after 2 or 3 weeks of the rALA and ALC ? I started him on OLE and B12 to see if it would help him with the recurrent " faucet nose " issues, as well as some eye allergies, but it has been 4 days and I have not seen any improvement... He is also starting to go back to not controlling body temp properly - can't stand heat - and it had disappeared for a while !!! he was even feeling cold for the first time ever !! His GP here is ok but has no idea what to do, so I am on my own to research and find ways to help him. Any advice will be super welcomed ! We are also considering Immunovir - has anyone tried ? He just came out of pneumonia (3 weeks to recover), and a massive amount of antibiotics as well... Thanks much A McMillan Mom to N McMillan, 10, and my reason to live.
