Guest guest
My son has recently been doing great on zinc supplementation - " zinc drink " which is zinc sulfate. Odd, because he usually does poorly with sulfates. Anyway, he is taking 30mg, divided by 2. Can I increase the dosage? He's 5yo and 49lbs. Not sure if it's the zinc that's helping or the sulfate. Blood testing for zinc was normal prior to supplementation. Thanks,
Guest guest
We used Zinc drink for awhile with success but switched to kirkmans Alpha ketogluterate form (monetary reasons)which has also worked well for us (a short lived switch to citrate brought back PICA). Are you chelating AC with DMSA/ALA? zinc is generally recommended at 1mg per pound + 20mg during chelation. Thats 69mg for your son. It isn't so much the zinc level on its own, but the zinc/copper ratio that is indicative of zinc supplementation. Guest guest
Tressie, Make sure to read the ingredients on the Lirkman's one. The one I bought from them contained sucralose, so I had to throw it out. kim On Thu, Jul 30, 2009 at 12:49 AM, umtarek690 <ttaylor15@...> wrote: > > > We used Zinc drink for awhile with success but switched to kirkmans Alpha > ketogluterate form (monetary reasons)which has also worked well for us (a > short lived switch to citrate brought back PICA). > > Are you chelating AC with DMSA/ALA? zinc is generally recommended at 1mg > per pound + 20mg during chelation.
