Guest guest
His Free T's don't look bad at all. The tsh is fine. He has TPO antibodies indicating an autoimmune condition, keep an eye on those. And if he has symptoms and his body temps are low....he may need treatment despite great labs. Most labs and docs claim it's normal to have some antibodies, but from my research it is not. Not all people have these antibodies. > > Hi! > > Could you take a look at the test results below done for my DS15? > > Thyroglobulin Antibodies: <20 (ref. <20) > Thyroid Peroxidase Antibodies: 17 (ref. <35) > RT3: 6 (ref. 11-32) > Total T3: 130 (ref. 97-186) > Free T3: 399 (ref. 287-455) > Total T4: 7.4 (ref. 4.5-12.5) > Free T4: 1.2 (ref. 0.9-1.4) > TSH: 0.51 > > Thank you all so much! > > Angie >

He has TPO antibodies indicating an autoimmune condition, keep an eye on those. As there should not be any. Keep in mind if he has symptoms and his body temps are low....he may need treatment despite great labs. But from a doctors viewpoint his labs do look good. Guest guest
Thanks for your prompt response Jan, you are very special to all of us here. I read on the STTM website that one should use a mercury thermometer to measure temps, for they are more accurate than digital thermometers. (ARGH!!!) I have not been able to convince myself to bring one of those things into the house, so I have not taken his temps. Is there something else that can be used for this purpose? I realize that taking his temps with an accurate device is important, but the M-word sends me running for the hills. lol All the best, Angie PS: For anyone reading this message not familiar with the STTM website, here is the link: www.stopthethyroidmadness.com. ----------------------------- > His Free T's don't look bad at all. Guest guest
One more piece of information: on the first blood test, about one month prior to this one, his TPA was over 200! This prompted us to repeat the test, which came back at 17 - within range but still concerning, like you said. Guest guest
You don't need a mercury thermometer..and in fact you can't even buy them anymore anyway. The glass ones in the store now are filled with gallinum. We have one. So no worries on the mercury. Get a glass one. They come with a nice case to keep them. So what we do is take temps while on the couch or bed...so if falls it won't break anyway. But if it did....it's gallinum not mercury. Guest guest
that would be weird....If the test was repeated fairly quickly after that initial test it was probably a lab error. Since antibodies don't usually drop that quickly with no treatment. > >> Hi! > >> > >> Could you take a look at the test results below done for my DS15? > >> > >> Thyroglobulin Antibodies: <20 (ref. <20) > >> Thyroid Peroxidase Antibodies: 17 (ref. <35) > >> RT3: 6 (ref. 11-32) > >> Total T3: 130 (ref. 97-186) > >> Free T3: 399 (ref. 287-455) > >> Total T4: 7.4 (ref. 4.5-12.5) > >> Free T4: 1.2 (ref. 0.9-1.4) > >> TSH: 0.51 > >> > >> Thank you all so much! > >> > >> Angie > >> > > >
Guest guest
I am off to get a non-mercury-glass-thermometer first thing in the morning. I will proceed to check DS's temperatures as described in the STTM website. Thank you for your patience with my silly questions once again, Jan! Guest guest
I hope the 1st test was indeed a lab error. We used a different lab for the second test for a true second " opinion " . > that would be weird....If the test was repeated fairly quickly after that > initial test it was probably a lab error. Guest guest
No trouble at all. It was a legitimate question. Let me know how you make out with the temps. If you don't see me on group, email me.
