Guest guest
" What are the symptoms and signs of thyroid eye disease? Patients with Graves’ disease may have a variety of eye symptoms that are not always recognized right away as features of a thyroid disorder: Protrusion of one or both eyeballs. Puffy, swollen eyelids. Gritty, burning, irritated eyes that frequently water. Diplopia (double vision). Decreased vision, often following reduced brightness of colors. Redness and swelling of the conjunctiva, the thin layer covering the white part of the eye. Difficulty in completely closing the eyelids, especially while sleeping. The most common eye sign in Graves’ disease is proptosis, in which the eyes appear to bulge outward. This finding is present in 70 – 90% of cases of thyroid eye disease. The swelling that causes proptosis is due to collections of fluid, fat, and inflammatory cells. The muscles that move the eyes may also become congested and stiff. This leads to double vision, since the muscles are unable to move the eyes together. As the disease gets worse, scarring of these muscles may occur, resulting in permanent limitation of eye movements. Proptosis may gradually increase to the extent that the cornea (the transparent tissue covering the front of the eye) becomes exposed. This exposure leads to drying and inflammation, which can progress to severe infections and ulcers of the cornea in extreme cases. Also, the orbital swelling may be so severe that the pressure within the eye increases, leading to glaucoma. The optic nerve, which is responsible for sending information received from the eye to the brain, may become strangled, resulting in severe or total visual loss. Soak soft cloth in it and cool (mine is frozen but do whatever is comfortable for you). I'm not sure if tap would interfere with allergy eye drops- asking a doctor would be good. I've used them without a problem but just over the counter stuff. Make up has aluminum oxides maybe? Heavy metals should be avoided. Guest guest
I think the candida causes problems every where. It could very well be that our adrenals, liver, kidneys etc. etc. aren't functioning up to par because of the candida. do you eat dairy ? Or nuts? I cut out dairy now today and will tell you in a week where I am at with the dark circles. Sometimes I have had them so bad and than the rest of my face doesn't have a good color tone either. I have red hair and so my skin is really fair which makes it worse. Maybe Bee will eventually see the dark circle post and make a comment. Guest guest
You can do all the GF/CF and give supplements but if we all are still buying foods already prepared in a package-many that still contain man made chemicals for preservation(nitrates, sulfites or food additives to enhance flavor like MSG or other similar ) In my opinion and experience with my own children(all 5 (grown) and 4 grandchildren) You are wasting your time and money. Whole natural foods are the way to go! Food made from scratch(real grains, fruits, nuts, seeds & veggies/herbs. Even fast food restaurants put MSG(hidden) which makes addicts out of society since the whole idea behind it is to keep you coming back for more of the same. I have been there! It is not easy but with practice, it gets easier. There is really no excuse for eating poorly since. God gave us all food in their natural form. Guest guest
My son just developed these in the past month after 3 years of biomed. I agree about the foods...you have to read every label and bake/cook a lot of your own from scratch. For my son it is not fast foods.... We didn't see yeast do this in the past...but I haven't ruled that out. We put him on enzymes a week ago...no change. I stopped some supplements based upon applied kinesiology to see if that makes a difference. If it does....I will let you all know what supplements were the problem. So for us we have the following ideas: yeast, parasites, digestive problem/food allergy. Hot red ears..that may be phenols? We don't have that sign here. > > I agree with the whole foods. Guest guest
's dark circles aren't THAT bad, but have always been there with the exception of the very early days of scd. and I'm not sure when they reappeared. it happened slowly. we just made an appointment with an allergist who knows/understands autism. hoping to find some answers there in May. is it possible that the allergic reaction could be to something other than food...pets, outdoor allergens? Just a thought. Kari > > I agree with the whole foods. If you want a potato, eat a potato (organic if possible). > Read the ingredients on the package. Guest guest
My DD has these dark circles, too. Our chiro said it's allergies like mold n stuff and her adrenals and pituitary tested weak. I had adrenal fatigue during pregnancy but didn't know it then. I only knew I was sooooo tired. The dark circles sometimes look like shiners they're so dark and she looks sooo unhealthy. But, she rarely has colds, etc. We do the all organic, non processed diet. I wonder if it's the allergies leaking from the gut thing.... how do I find out more about that? Guest guest
My son has had it since he was 4 mths old, and that's when I eliminated all of his food allergens (I was nursing and did total elimination diet where I ate nothing but 8 foods). He didn't have symptoms of inhalant allergies, so I had no clue why he had them (still does at 4.5yo). He is showing some symptoms of inhalant allergies now. And they get darker when he gets a cold and his sinuses get clogged up. On Thu, Mar 5, 2009 at 8:29 PM, Little Red Riding Hood < papbdaybaby@...> wrote: > My DD has these dark circles, too. Guest guest
My son also had horrible dark circles. It made his red rimmed eyes look even more sunken into his skinny face. Food allergies were only part of it here. We also added digestive enzymes, went to organic diet, too. Detoxing the home environment was a big help. We tore up his carpet and put wood flooring down in his bedroom, use a hepa air filter all night while he sleeps, eliminated all chemicals and artificial fragrances from cleaning/laundry products/air fresheners/candles to remove the sinus irritants (and as a bonus it saves money), and went all natural, organic, chemical free in personal care products, too: shampoo, soap, even handsoaps at each sink (it is not expensive if you make your own). I make sure and vacuum regularly with hepa filter and wash things that hold irritants like curtains and bedspreads, coats, a little more frequently than I used to. We also use a combo of NAET/homeopathy to treat environmental allergies, like mold, dust, animal dander, and tree pollen was a severe inhalant allergy for him and he has been off all Rx and OTC allergy meds now for 2 years! As we enter spring, I take him for a NAET/homoepathy " fine tuning " and he'll be fine. Gentle massage to promote sinus drainage and lymph drainage, and CST have been helpful too. It wasn't any one thing here that worked. But as we added these things, we noticed his circles were less, and then -when we detoxed the house they finally were completely gone. -- In , Little Red Riding Hood <papbdaybaby@...> wrote: > > My DD has these dark circles, too. Guest guest
Hi, I'm getting ready to replace carpeting in my house with new carpeting in certain areas and more wood in others (like children's rooms). My question is this: Is there a carpeting that is better than others for allergens? Sandy > > > > My DD has these dark circles, too. Guest guest
I get dark circles when I eat any milk product or anything containing milk deritives. Look like someone punched me and they will grow larger and longer the more time I'm ingesting it. Had them till my mid 40's when a doc told me to go off milk and they magically disappeared. Just an FYI..... Tressler Healthy Transitions Life Coaching 541-791-1464 Help raise funds for Legacy Land Conservancy by searching the internet or shoping online with GoodSearch (www.goodsearch.com). Guest guest
For my son, dark circles mean an increase in yeast (probably intestinal) and/or adrenal stress. We use ADRENergize for adrenals. For yeast, low sugar diet, probiotics, OLE (4xday with 2 No Fenol enzymes while chelating, 2xday when not giving ALA/DMSA for chelation). HTH, I need help to solve this problem. My kid started to have this for several weeks (she is on the 15 rounds of ALA/DMSA) and it is getting worse. What causes this and how to improve? Thanks everyone!
Guest guest
Hi , Do you use ADRENergizer from Enzymatics? What's the effect? I took half a caps myself and had terrible side effects. Thanks,  ________________________________ From: Falconer Al-Hindi <karen.alhindi@...> Sent: Sat, November 20, 2010 11:31:39 PM Subject: [ ] Re: Dark circles  For my son, dark circles mean an increase in yeast (probably intestinal) and/or adrenal stress.
