Guest guest
Thanks Jaco, From what I've read Interferon is also contraindicated with LDN: One suppresses the autimmune system (interferon) and one stimulates it (LDN). They cancel each other out. The standard of care for Hepatitis C (with genotype 1) is 48 weeks of treatment. Many people never recover from the side effects. There is also only at best a 50% chance (from what I've read) of sustained viral clearance. In my case, with cirrhosis the odds look even worse). Cheers, McGovern > > > , > > Interferon is often prescribed for the rare cancer I suffer from and I can tell you without reservation that even in low doses it reduces quality of life significantly and does little in the way of improvement. Guest guest
That's exactly what I said too! I can probably fill up a legal pad with things I want (need) to do!-- Warmest Regards,Robin LittleHi a, That is fascinating. I am definitely on the *LIST* side of this question! The most frustrating thing about the fatigue is that I can't *get* to the items on my list. I'll bet I could easily create a list of a hundred things I would do if I had energy tomorrow. Having little energy for five years has resulted in a back log. Thanks for that distinction..it helps me think that my depression is under control. Now if I could just get some energy! Cheers, McGovern > > , > I just attended a 4 day medical conference on chronic fatigue syndrome. > Hopefully my report on it will be online soon. > > One thing they presented that was curious was how they distinguish > depression from cfs. If they ask a cfs patient what they would do tomorrow > if they were suddenly well, the cfs patient would give them a LIST. Guest guest
Hi anne, I have had the saliva test. I have low cortisol and low dhea. My naturopath thinks my fatigue has a lot to do with adrenal exhaustion. I was taking dhea and cortisol for a while but he stopped it. Now he is hoping to jump start the cortisol with Seriphos which I think works a little like LDN...it downregulates cortisol and possibly 'reboots' the cortisol production into normalcy. At least I'm hoping that's what it does. It does help me to sleep. And I definitely notice that when I get angry at all...it's like someone flipped a switch and adrenaline just pours through my body for hours (and ocasionally a day or two) and I can't seem to shut it off. It's a good thing I don't get angry too often! And I always feel more tired after exercise as well. I'm hoping the LDN helps me with some of this...we shall see. Thanks, McGovern > > > , have you had a 24 hour urine or salivary cortisol test and a DHEA test?
