OT - Food Poisoning Dragging On

Hi All,

My husband works across from a man who got severe food poisoning in an

outbreak locally that killed many and hospitalized many more. They

tracked it to a rare form of e-coli that of the 11 cases in recent

history they've only figured out 1. The man was missing from work for

well over a week, and that was months ago. He still has not been able

to resume a regular work schedule though, being out for days at a time

and not being able to work full days when he does come in. My husband

is very worried about him. I suspect that he is on the antibiotics and

regression roller coaster. He hasn't been able to eat normally, rid

himself of the diarrhea or consistently go without vomiting. I'm trying

to gather up some things for my husband to recommend to him. He is sick

enough that I'm sure any input would be helpful at this point.

What I've thought for my husband to tell him is to take some sea salt in

water - 1tsp or so - a day. Get a probiotic drink for between rounds of

antibiotics - like maybe some good kefir. Take some probiotics in pill

form. The usual, no sugar or substitutes. And, maybe some liver

support. I'm sure the guys minerals are probably completely whacked out

from all of this. We lost our favorite teller to the outbreak. Sure

would love to help this poor guy regain his life!! It has become more

than just a " pop in and bring homemade chicken soup " kind of thing.

Thanks for any input. You can reply off board if you'd like since this

is off topic.

P.
