Guest guest
What is flagyl for? I have heard of other kids (with organic acidemias) on it. Yes, SCD was 100% effective for the first 3 weeks and then I tried navy beans which was a huge mistake. Then the diarrhea started again and I have had tons of problems getting consistant stools over the last two weeks. He is already on sac B... but maybe bringing the flagyl on is a good thing to try. We were trying gastrochrome and singulair but I am unsure of they have been helpful for this purpose at all or not. The singulair has reduced the amount of eczema on his body (so the overt inflammation)... but I don't really think it's helping with the diarrhea at all. What is clostridia? And what is the test for this? Can you e-mail the chicken cakes recipe? We are always looking for good new recipes. Or any other recipes your two kids really enjoy. I am still looking to get replacement foods. Thank you for your post, I really appreciate it. ...Potty training has been a huge struggle for us as well. It has seriously disrupted our son's pre-school experience. But congratulations to you and your son, all your hard work has finally paid off! It creates problems for each of my kids. They only get berries and pears, but both of these have to be used sparingly and with a strong yeast protocol. if you limit these things too much then ketosis could be an issue, so in our house they eat LOTS of butternut squash (french fries and I put it in their chicken cakes). it is a balancing act for sure. you may need to play around with this to see what works best for your child. Once on SCD my son immediately started having formed stools. Not so for my daughter. The evidence suggests a clostridia problem for her even though this never showed up on her tests but this is what has her finally having formed stools: flagyl (or bactrim) and Sac B - this is why I think clostridia is her issue.
