Guest guest
----- Original Message ----- From: maggiestrees Hello Bee, Since niacinimide is synthetic it sounds like we would want to avoid it completely. I am finding even the top, most sought after brands including Standard Process use niacinimide. Niacinamide has important clinical uses that don't include niacin. Specifically for Type I diabetes and other autoimmune conditions. So I think we would do better to use the correct form for the specific condition. So, just to clarify, could you give me some documentation to show to the SP rep and to show to supplement buyer at our local health food store as to the detriment of this if there is one. Both are very concerned about this since the top of the line says " 100% " food grade and obviously synthetic is not food grade. Thanks much and best to you, Louise

Yes it would be better to avoid niacinimide but I can't find any vitamin B complex that doesn't contain it, so the next best thing is to take " true " niacin separately. > > So, just to clarify, could you give me some documentation to show to > the SP rep and to show to supplement buyer at our local health food > store as to the detriment of this if there is one. I don't believe we " have to " take food grade supplements to obtain benefits from supplementation, and some people cannot afford the higher cost. The best to you, Bee

Guest guest
I am weaning my daughter off Focalin xr. I am starting by eliminating the 2:00 dose and keeping the am dose for now. It seems like niacinamide would help her in this transition. Any thoughts? Other supplements ideas? She is supper giggly - impulsive after dinner and through bed time. Guest guest
Thanks - We are giving her biotin 30mg a day, probiotics and just started again on Ambrotose by mannatech ( good yeast fighter) any other over the counter yeast fighters you'd recommend? Re: [ ] niacinamide Focalin is a stimulant, and niacinamide is a B vitamin that slows down phase 1 liver metabolism (among other functions). They do completely different things. Someone mentioned it because she thought her child's phase 1 was too fast for phase 2 and was unable to detox well. What you're describing sounds very much like yeast overgrowth to me. FWIW I was diagnosed with ADD last year, and most of my symptoms were eliminated after I started taking antifungal supplements. You can try a holistic route - take her to a chiropractor or a naturopath as they can give you natural supplements and suggest anti-yeast treatments also. Guest guest
I'm giving my 4.5yo Candex, 1/4 capsule to 1/2 capsule once a day on an empty stomach, and the results have been amazing. He doesn't fuss about taking it because it's not bitter like GSE. It's very mild - haven't noticed any side effects at all from it.
