Milk, soy, corn, and phenols are the most common http://www.danasview.net/phenol.htm Yeast overgrowth is a common cause http://www.danasview.net/yeast.htm Certain supplements, or conversely lack of certain supplements, can also cause this. What does she typically eat, and what supplements do you give, especially after 3pm? Dana
Guest guest
My dd looks pretty good until I start giving probiotics. They seem to make her mean.... but I am concerned about not giving any, since she was on Flagyl and Diflucan. I am going to try a couple new brands. My question is: do most people give a yeast probiotic and a bacteria probiotic at the same time?

You can give a good-yeast at the same time as a good-bacteria. I don't know if *most* people do that, but I do know that *some* people do. Guest guest
Is biotin and GSE a probiotic? or is it just killing bad yeast, which makes more room form good bacteria? Guest guest
I gave acidophilus to my son and seemed to make his face swell-Is that a normal side effect? > > > > My dd looks pretty good until I start giving probiotics. GSE kills yeast. Biotin is what the probiotics manufacture, and the body uses the biotin to control the yeast. Dana
Guest guest
how much biotin are you all giving per weight of the child? thanks, kathy [ ] Re: DANA/ANDY > It's not the same a probiotic. Guest guest
> > So couldn't biotin be what I use for a probiotic then? Instead of > adding another? It would not be " for a probiotic " , but it was what my son required to control yeast. It is sort of like taking a vitamin C capsule, instead of eating 1000 oranges. It would take a LOT of probiotics a LONG time to manufacture the amount of biotin that you can take in a 5mg capsule. Dana
Guest guest
> > how much biotin are you all giving per weight of the child? The most I gave my son was 20mg 3x per day. I know other families who are using that dose, and one family who uses an even higher dose. Most kids seem to need 5-10mg tho. Start low and work up. It requires magnesium for proper absorption, and giving a too-high dose caused headaches here. Dana
