What kind? Reform school? Sounds like a good idea to me. I'd have

been ready. He must like poop. Jessie

fingers in the back of his pullups when he poops.. UGH.. so I've learned fast to

change him when he does this!! I can almost picture what your son did! yuck!

lol.. I have no idea what to say for you to do! big help huh?! lol..

Shar <-- dealing with it herself on occasion

POOP

HELP........ Lucas(5w/ds)was really having an off day yesterday! He got into

his diaper in the late morning and brought out a hand full of poop, cleaned him

up and all. THEN.... in the afternoon....he went into my bedroom and turned on

the radio to dance, he loves to do this so I did not worry too much. I walked

back to check on him, quietly, he was naked on my bed standing on it with poop

ALL over the bed, sheets, headboard(which is one that has lots of carving and

curves in it),and walls!!!!!OMG!!!!!! I took him to the tub, he then rubbed it

all over the tub walls(not as messy to clean up as the bedroom). Any body else

have this or similar situations???? Any suggestions???? Other than sending him

to a " special school " ! I thought about it for a short time yesterday, believe

me!!! But I did simmer down and we all survived!!!!! :-)

Oh, sweetie, yes, I've has this problem. Austin and Dakota used to do this.

I'd be cleaning one end of the house, and they would be making a mess in the

other end. I would all of the sudden get a good whiff. I can't remember how

I cured them of it. I do know I painted their room and all the furniture in

it with kids room paint, and even managed to scrub that off in places...I

scrubbed the flat wall paint once or twice, and figured it would never hold

up...Sorry I can't remember more! Beth

Renae,

has done this a couple of times and " painted " his crib. YUCK! The

first time, I tried to be understanding and just clean it up. (He

doesn't understand, etc) With four kids, it takes a lot to ruffle my

feathers. BUT, the second time, he caught me on a bad day...I yelled,

got mad and pointed my finger at him, you know the mother saying NO NO

and shaking the finger in the face thing?! =) ...he hasn't done it

since.

Has any of your kids ever stuck their fingers in the mouth as opposed to

painting the walls? My son Jordan has been doing this for a couple of

months now... ugh!!!

Unfortunately, YES! YUK!!!!!!!! has taken off a poopy diaper a

few times, once causing an

upolstered chair to be thrown away (NOTHING could get the smell out.... it

kept coming back!). Once

though, she was doing the finger painting thing while the diaper was still

on (presumably just digging in?),

and after I got her and everything else cleaned up, I could still smell

poop. I finally smelled her breath

and just about died!!!!!! I brushed her teeth for a long time, but it still

is yukky to think about, even now!

Even though I was trying not to be really mad at her, she knew things were

not OK. She hasn't done the mouth

thing again..... hopefully once has cured her! She was 3 1/2 when she

started this phase..... hope it end soon!

Sue,

Sometimes I soooooooooooo identify with what you write! LOL I can just picture

it! Never met your little guy but I love him! He is just too cute!!!!!!!! We

are still dealing with the " wiping " issue and making sure his willy is pointed

down while sitting :) Can't help with the " painting " problem because, like you

this only happened once and I let him know in no uncertain terms that this was

not acceptable! My guy knows what he can get away with and what he can't and

with whom. Whenever daddy hollers at him I will hear " Mommy!!!!!!!! " LOL

Gotta love em!

Tim has only 'painted' once, I am not that tolerant and I made it clear in

no uncertain terms that it was never to happen again and it hasn't. But he

still gets poopy fingers becoz he scratches his bum at night, particularly

when its been sore but is getting better, presumably it itches. But becoz

of his continence problems the scratching fingers have a 'cleansing' effect

on his bowels!! So he gets disgusting fingers that need a nail brush to

remove the pooh. Pretty gross. Just one of the things that my friends with

typical 8 year olds don't have to deal with, and one I have never told them

about! The fingers don't go in his mouth, very little does other than food,

but he gets a lot of eye infections! So how come if he can reach his rear

to scratch that he can't reach it to wipe?!!

hate to admit it but my son (16ds) still has a problems with his fingers

going in places they shouldnt. i think his butt itches or hurts or something

but its a sight we see way too often. even had him checked but they didnt

find anything. i was hoping he would soon stop. he gets better, then starts

in again. we also have a nail brush waiting in the wings.

LOL, I used to have to use safety pins, under the zipper, because with twins,

who both did it, they could unzip each other, and often did...The safety

pins, as long as they couldn't figure them out, worked really well, they

can't unzip with them on there...I would pin them on the INSIDE of the

jammies, though, so they were less likely to get them undone and hurt

themselves...:) Beth

(6) went through this phase (of messing with his poop) so I just

kept him in clothes that made his diaper inaccessible. It would invariably

happen during nap-time (while I THOUGHT he was sleeping) and his room would be

disgusting. It seems like he just outgrew it on his own. I think overalls worked

well, (and one-peice pajamas) if I remember correctly.
