Guest guest
Chantelle, How does your body react if you eat this foods seperately? Does ground beef normally give you any kind of reaction? Just wondering if it was the " combination " of these foods that caused the reaction ......maybe??? Angie

I had a totally separate meal for me of foods that I have eaten many times in that combination with no problem. All I had was ONE BITE of POTATO ONLY! I can do ground beef just fine, I eat tacos or hamburger patties with no problems. Onions go in everything around here. But that was the first time I had had any 'real' potato since January. Potato chips and french fries are not real potatoes to me! That potato I took out of the cabinet and chopped up myself. Guest guest
No, I haven't had that happen to me cause my doctor doesn't have a nurse. However, whenever a doctor prescribes something that I don't feel I should take, I tell them that I am very allergic to it and would prefer not to take it. I just did that to the dentist who was going to prescribe prednisone for inflammation on a dental procedure that I am doing on Wednesday. I am going to take Vit C for inflammation instead and told him so. phine I went to a new cardiologist a few months ago and had some blood work done. He only asked for the usual lipid profile so as usual I added a few more, including Fibrinogen, which is a clotting factor. Anyway my results came in, except for the fibrinoggen (they were high as they have been the past 26 years) and during the follow-up visit he proceeded to write a prescription for 20 mg Crestor. Didn't even look at my records I gave him. In addition to that, he was running late to be in his other office and during my visit one of the receptionists opened the door and said, Doctor you really need to leave, you were supposed to be in your other office 20 minutes ago. Are you f****in' kidding me!!!???? Right in the middle of my visit???!!! Well, I just got off the phone with the " nurse " and/or receptionist and she said they didn't authorize that test so it wasn't done. I told her that I asked for the test at the lab and wrote it on the sheet. She told me you're not supposed to do that. Why not? I asked. The doctor doesn't have to pay for it. Because the doctor is your caretaker, she replied. Really, I said. Well if he's " taking care " of me then he should have had the courtesy to at least take the time to look at the lab reports and tests I had done in the years prior to seeing him. She continued, I've been here 11 years and the doctor has never done that kind of test. I've never heard of that test. Yipes!!!! That's too bad, I told her. Are you in the medical field or something?, she asked. Why yes, yes I am I told her and could you kindly cancel my appointment in June please? Fine, she said and hung up. Anyone have a similar experience? Isn't this pathetic? D
Guest guest
Definitely pathetic. I hope you didn't pay him. Keep fighting the good fight! More people like you and maybe they'll slither down off their high horse. Years ago i refused to pay a doc who misdiagnosed my son's ailment. His office staff was dumbfounded. I was amazed that they expected to be paid for such a glaring mistake. be well Art
Guest guest
Well Art,Unfortunately I did pay the $40 office visit co-pay. I figured that was better than paying physically for taking the Crestor. In their advertising campaign blitz there is fine print on the bottom of the TV screen. Anyone with a bit of a sight problem won't be able to read it. You also have to read everything very quickly as the images change so fast. The last one reads, " Crestor has not been proven to prevent heart disease or heart attacks. " A real head scratcher that one. Good for you for not paying. D > > Definitely pathetic. Guest guest
dpmanzari, I am GLAD somebody else has seen that diclaimer on that Crestor ad. I thought I was the only one who saw it. Lipitor also had it on their web sight for awhile.. So, I have to ask.... WHY do the doctors continue to tell people " If you don't take this you will have a heart attack and die! " ? and WHY do people continue to believe it? > > > > Definitely pathetic. I hope you didn't pay him. Keep fighting the good > > fight! Guest guest
Tom, I don't know if you're ready (or able) to consider homeschooling as an option but if you do 1) I highly recommend it, we've homeschooled our child (pdd-nos) since withdrawing from K - 's in 6th grade now and actively participates in classes and play time in a homeschool co-op twice a week 2) homeschooling might just solve this issue for you as totally as you possibly could solve it under the circumstances. hth, Marty At 10:21 AM 1/30/2009, Tom Arts wrote: >My dan! doc.....the same one who has no problems with the accuracy >of theses doctors data tests when my checkbook is out, is the same >doc not willing to stand up for these tests when the state is >getting involved claiming I'm harming my kid. > >I'm Freaking!!!!!!!!!!!!!Furious!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! > >So there's like 2 parts to this whole thing. I'm Freaking!!!!!!!!!!!!!Furious!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So there's like 2 parts to this whole thing. The school is the one who called cps and claimed I'm harming my child and now I'm scared to death to do anything....ANYTHING to help him and then The same people that were the ones to tell me that Ethan needs all this chelation according to these tests are running away with their tails between their legs and telling me they want nothing to do with it! Guest guest
Rock and a hard place..... Use studies to support your case, and attack their case. Pubmed is a good place to start. Bury them in paperwork! BUT ABOVE ALL THINGS, remember that your son's health and recovery is the most important thing and let that guide your decision making. Keep asking yourself what is best for him. There are so many battles I would like to wage against companies and individuals that are harming children. That Offit guy is a monster. But first and foremost my responsibility is to my daughter, and I only have so much time, energy and resources to use each day........ Which means some battles have to wait.... This does not mean you let people walk all over you, or try and dictate to you that your child should remain ASD for the rest of their life..... But it does mean you focus on keeping moving forward everyday towards better health for your son. Guest guest
If you decide to home school this is a good site and very reasonable. http://www.edhelper.com/ > > > > My dan! doc.....the same one who has no problems with the accuracy of > > theses doctors data tests when my checkbook is out, is the same doc > > not willing to stand up for these tests when the state is getting > > involved claiming I'm harming my kid. > > > > I'm Freaking!!!!!!!!!!!!!Furious!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! > > > > So there's like 2 parts to this whole thing.
