Guest guest
I bought the Vit A at a local health food store. It's called Mycel Vit A from Ethical Nutrients and it comes in a little bottle with a dropper. I gave my son the whole 400,000 I.U.s in the morning on day 1 and 2 and then dropped down to 25,000 I.U.'s on the third day. You're supposed to do a maintenance dose of 5,000 - 25,000 for 2 months after the 2 day high doses, but my son developed a toxicity rash on about the 4th day so I removed the Mycel Vit A and upped his Cod liver oil which contains Vit A. The toxicity rash went away. I kept everything else the same and if I remember correctly we were even chelating the weekend we did it. Familiarize yourself with signs of Vit A toxicity so you know what to look for. Dana has alot of good info on her site about toxicity signs. I wish you guys the best of luck, it really was a great protocol for my son and I hope it is for your boys too!!! How has it been going for your son? Has there been gains or regression? Are you doing both DMSA and ALA? My son can not tolerate supps and he shows on tests that he has yeast and is very low in all B vitamins. His bacteria looks fine and he is pretty good on all other nutrients, especiall y minerals. I've been living on borrowed time with the yeast and use diflucan as needed. I guess I will use diflucan 2 days a week, while I chelate, until he can tolerate more supps. I started ALA yesterday and he had a good day yesterday and today. We won't let me give it to him at night!!??! That will be a struggle. Good luck to you and your son. Guest guest
I collected some information on the high dose Vitamin A protocol recently as I tried it myself. It has extensive information on toxicity: http://onibasu.com/wiki/High_Dose_Vitamin_A_for_Measles I reached toxicity after 4 days on only 125,000 IU/day. I had a bad headache, slightly peeling lips, and no rash. If your kid is nonverbal, you may want to consider this.
