Guest guest
what about Melatonin i believe this increases the production of glutathione peroxidase and selenium is also good for increasing glutathione studies in college age students that glut levels increase by 50% when taking 500mg of vit C perday adding extra vit C did not further increase glut -s

Guest guest
Whey would not be harmless if your casein free. Since casine is the milk protein in whey/milk products. Whey protein is good for one, unless one is casein sensitive. so if your allergic or dont' tolerate casein, you need to avoid whey. > > i realize ive been babbling but thanks for humoring me > but here is a good description about whey i have considered > taking it : > > http://www.customprobiotics.com/whey_a.htm > > seems harmless from gfcf perspective > am i missing something ? >
Guest guest
I did ask whether undenatured whey maybe helpful but after reading some old posts i.e. mess.49644 I think that it depends on the lines of whether a sulfur exclusion diet would be helpful or detrimental as I believe that a plasma cysteine test is not available anymore. Undenatured whey if I'm not mistaken does increase cysteine levels which in turn may mobilize mercury rather than escort it out of the body. Kenny > Whey would not be harmless if your casein free. Guest guest
Bonnie, there's no NAC in brown rice protein. NAC is a drug. There should be little or no glutamate in it either unless it's been hydrolyzed. L-glutamate is a byproduct of glycine recycling; the precursor to look for is glutamic acid and glutamine peptides. That said, it's bound cysteine, not glutamine, that is the rate-limiting factor in glutathione production. NAC is not bound cysteine but a toxin that is weakly attached to a vinegar molecule for somewhat better absorption by the liver while much of it is quickly hydrolyzed to free cysteine which then is nothing more than a toxin. Casein is removed from whey as the first step in processing. All good, Duncan > > Duncan: > > If Glutathione precursors are L-Cysteine (NAC), L-Glutamate and Glycine why > won't these SAME PRECURSORS in Brown Rice Protein work for me? > > I'm not a body-builder. Guest guest
I have red in my book that avocado, asparagus , braccoli, caraway seeds, dill, walnuts are rich in glutatione so I buy lot of cheap avocado from exican shop and eat them every day.It is low in pesticides so I don`t afraid to buy it there not from organic shop as well as aspatragus which expensive there. > > > > Duncan: > > > > If Glutathione precursors are L-Cysteine (NAC), L-Glutamate and Glycine why > > won't these SAME PRECURSORS in Brown Rice Protein work for me? > > > > I'm not a body-builder. Guest guest
Vicky, the foods you mentioned do not contain glutathione precursors though but traces of glutathione itself, which does not enter cells or increase cellular glutathione. A precursor is something that is made into another something; in this case lots of precursors are required for glutathione manufacture and the foods are not providing them. What you have done is a common mistake even made by health advisors who didn't read the research. These precursors are listed at the bottom of my whey page: http://tinyurl.com/whey-page Duncan > > > > > > Duncan: > > > > > > If Glutathione precursors are L-Cysteine (NAC), L-Glutamate and Glycine why > > > won't these SAME PRECURSORS in Brown Rice Protein work for me? > > > > > > I'm not a body-builder. Guest guest
Hi, I think your message was to imsinfo not me. Though I have been sold gluthiathone capsules by a CFS doctor (Dr. Enlander, his own formula) and an osteopath wanted me to get glutathione IVs--would either of these work? I took the capsules for a couple months and they did not seem to help. Guest guest
I read somewhere that glutathione orally can cause fungal overgrowth. Does anyone know if that is true? Guest guest
While glutathione oral does not work, glutathione IV at least increases serum (not cellular) glutathione, and this spares some of the celular GSH fom having to exit cells. For cellular GSH increase where 90% of the volume is needed, you still need precursors. If you do undenatured whey and selenium you won't need the GSH shots; it will neatly address the low cellular AND serum GSH and it should be a LOT less costly than shots. Guest guest
Oral glutathione doesn't absorb and increase cellular GSH at any rate so there's no reason to find out if it increases overgrowth. Personally, I doubt it does though.
