> I have started having urgent loose stools again, after not feeling

that way for over a year. The only things that I can attribute it to

is 1)I stopped taking probiotics until gut healed, 2) Started new

salt in the mineral drink (grey moist lg grain French) 3) Two days

ago I started swishing my mouth with coconut oil in the morning. 4)

Could it be the amount of Vit C that I have taken for my cold?, I

took between 50 and 60 grams of ascorbate a day for 4 days. I know

that Dr. Cathcart says to make sure if you take 10 grams or more a

day of Vit C you must take potassium, chromium, magnesium and

selenium and zinc, because Vit C depleats those minerals. I was

drinking 3 glasses of 1/2 tsp mineral salt day. Did that make up for

those minerals? I am concerned, as I do not want to go backwards.

Thanks ahead for your insight.

==>Hi . The high amounts of vitamin C are causing loose

stools. You should be taking it " to bowel tolerance " (when you get

loose stools) and cut back on the amount so you do not have loose

stools. The minerals are okay. You are not going backwards, just

lower the amount of vitamin C. You do not need to stop taking

probiotics; if you are getting enough good fats it is healing your

intestines.

My son is having loose stools sometimes watery ever since we started

with Nystatin. He is also pooping atleast 5 to 8 times per day. It is

almost end of two weeks. I have increased his probiotics dose. Could

it be the probiotics?

Thanks,

Maya

It sounds normal...that is all the yeast die off coming out.  I was told it

could take weeks to clear his system.  My son was on Diflucan from our DAN for 4

months and we spent the first 1.5 months with loose stool.  They are better

now... more like snakes he says.  Keep it up...you are on the right track.

Hi Maya. Yes, it could be in part due to the anti fungal. But as to

your question about probiotics, I too wondered whether I was giving

too much to my son, and if it could too much of a good thing. Our doc

said that too much can cause problems. We were giving about 300

billion cfus of a probiotic then lowered it to 200 billion cfus, and

lowered the vitamin C and magnesium we were giving a little bit as

well, but kept the anti fungals steady, and the loose bowel did ease

up quite a bit. Just something to consider.

Hi Martha:

**** Yes, it is normal because one of the ways the body can get rid of toxins is

through the bowel pathways (also skin pathways and mucus pathways). It uses

those loose stools to get rid of them. Often the stools will be mustard colored

which is the color of toxins. I have had loose stools practically the entire

time I've been on the diet.

Your body is using the nutrition you are giving it to hunker down and do some

house-cleaning, LOL!
