Guest guest
quick blurb'g...every so often I revisit my basics - haven't been to motion sickness in quite some time (over a year, maybe two) ...I start over, " assuming personal ignorance. " anyway, so far just hit wikipedia - but super-argh...kinda... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Motion_sickness snipped (This is the 4th paragraph down page) The most common hypothesis for the cause of motion sickness is that it functions as a defense mechanism against neurotoxins.[7] The area postrema in the brain is responsible for inducing vomiting when poisons are detected, and for resolving conflicts between vision and balance. When feeling motion but not seeing it (for example, in a ship with no windows), the inner ear transmits to the brain that it senses motion, but the eyes tell the brain that everything is still. As a result of the disconcordance, the brain will come to the conclusion that one of them is hallucinating and further conclude that the hallucination is due to poison ingestion. The brain responds by inducing vomiting, to clear the supposed toxin. ....I am rather growling...when looked into motion sickness, everything said babies could NOT have motion sickness - something about being aware of time & space...and I knew my girl had motion sickness from the get-go. Well, in hindsite - I tore apart her car seat regularly & often, stopped car to do strip searches, and things like that, from the time she drove home from the hospital.... Posting this tidbit here because the second thought becomes....neurotoxicity issues (could/would/probably) feel an awful lot like motion sickness...argh. How much does that idea bite... wishing all the best, elizabeth
